Sorry, but no one "freshy oils" a road. Oil was only used back in the day on gravel roads to keep the dust down. I design/construct roads for a living

Oil was only used back in the day on gravel roads to keep the dust down. I design/construct roads for a living and a new asphalt road will yield better traction then an older one. They may have crack sealed it but thats not oil either. Sorry to hear about your mishap with your Z. Spares suck.
