Default My wife's PW Base 7AT

Just sharing some pictures of our newest purchase. Only mods done so far are tinted tails. Blacked out headlights with landing strip LED's coming soon, along with some form of intake setup.

We're still trying to decide on the wheel color - my wife really likes the stock base wheels over pretty much anything aftermarket. The color will probably be pretty extreme - candy purple, candy blue, or some chameleon color.

CF accents to come. Maybe a color-matched FRP lip kit as well, who knows?

It is my wife who actually DD's our Z also and it is PW like yours except hers has the sports/touring package. I get to mod it and drive it on the weekends.

Thanks guys. She absolutely loves the car... unfortunately for me, she gets to drive it most the time

We did our first oil change on the Z with Castrol 0W-30 (German Castrol). Why doesn't the engine under cover have an access port for changing oil? Even my Evo takeout box has that. lol

Only mods so far are tinted tails, with the clear parts and sides tinted darker than the rest; and a mad tyte JDM Fairlady Z emblem (thanks to Riverside Infiniti for getting that to us very quick!).

You can kind of see both mods here (excuse the crappy BlackBerry pics):

Today we might pick up some K&N drop-ins. I'm kind of sad that a stock 370Z 7AT can't manage to get sideways from a dig up at 5000 feet Gotta do something about that. It does chirp into 2nd though! Pretty nice for a slushbox.

It does have an access "flap" on the bottom cover. If you unscrew the four bolts at the back you can fold the tray down for access to the drain plug and filter.

I am not sure about the base but with the sport package you get paddle shifters on the 7at and there is definitely no lack of power! =). I am not at 5000 feet though.....

A few new shots and the start of a long journey to a jaw-dropping engine bay.

Thanks guys. Next engine bay mods to come are some intake pipes (might be custom, but probably just silicone tubes for now) and purple titanium dress-up bolts. My friend who does my powder coating is also getting a custom sheetmetal engine cover mocked up right now. Should turn out pretty sweet!

I should have some new pictures of the re-finished wheels on the car here soon. They may or may not be the same color as the engine bay accents. I love being able to go super-extreme on a car and just dismissing any haters with the fact that it's my wife's car.

Thanks for the pics, I'm considering swapping out to a set of lightweight 18's. Not sure if I'm sold on the look, although a drop and a good offset can probably make it work. hmmmm.....

I think 18's are the perfect cost-effective option for the 370Z. Though any given new sporty car can rock tasteful 20's and look good, I remember when 18's used to be considered huge on a mid-size sedan or sports coupe.

I like to drag race, so 20's are out of the question.

I've got Sport Package wheels, which should be about 22lb each. And I can't justify buying a $3k set of 19's (the only ones that would be 20lb or less). So 18's are what I might end up with.

and yes, i do remember the days when 17's and 18's were "BIG".
