I'll second that you can't tell me a prius at 70mph is going to be more fuel efficient than a turbodiesel cruising at 70mph.

Most of the Prii that I run into are on I-95 between Baltimore and D.C. They blow by me in my dd doing 90. you can't tell me they're worried about fuel efficiency.

It's about image bro. Look at any of the houses in Mclean... you'll have a V12 Vantage and a Hummer in the garage and a Prius in the driveway. Gotta look like you give a damn.

Yup. Kinda like how the SUV took off because no one wanted to drive a dorky station wagon, and then gas prices soared, so no one wanted to be seen in an excessively large SUV, so now the rage is "crossovers"... All of these things, with some exceptions, are the same concept: suburban people movers. But fashion dictates which one ppl buy.

Thats why I'm about to start selling FAKE solar panels. Why not.

Slap 20 of my panels on your roof and show you really care about the environment!

Same damn thing in my neck of the woods. Give me the Golf TDI over the Prius.

I'm getting 26 mpg in my new turbodiesel GL350 Blue-Tec! Sticker only said 22mpg but I'm finding that is very conservative. We went on a freeway trip and it was at 30mpg (according to the gauges, 65mph.) I'm happy about that. (Still miss my Z.)
