Dont know what you are anal izing but you said the Z numbers were wrong and I said then the porsche numbers were to and if you correct the z numbers then correct the others numbers too and you get the same result, the Z getting beat. I tell you what just go race one and then post it on you tube for us to see.

13.8 @ 103mph that i got with my Z was done by having a 2.5x 60ft time. Generally every 0.1 of a 60ft time will yield 0.2 off of your ET... A decent launch with a RWD street car is 2.1 60ft time that means I sucked launching the Z yet still got 13.8. So by following this fact proves that the magazine number that the OP posted for the Z is either bogus or sucked at launching the car. But the problem is that magazines can do infinite launches to get the best time unlike myself. I was limited to 2 runs.

The Porsche design may be a little lazy, but you can't deny the heritage behind the badge. As much as I like all things Nissan, you can't help but respect what the Porsche brand has done for sports cars in general. Competition leads to better, faster cars. Having the Z come within reach of its Porsche counterparts is a milestone considering its nearly half the cost to purchase & maintain.

Buy whatever makes you happy and whatever you think is the best value for your situation.

I would have thought with the Prius being faster than the new stangs they would be worse in the MPG area. LOL.

I ran a 12.9. After mods our car is right there. What this means is put Joe blow Carrera S or caymen S driver on the line next to me at the track and I could beat them. Our car is right there..
Mine is a manual as well. 12.6 was done with my mods plus gears and long tubes . The Z does not disapoint. I'm guessing we will see better times as weather cools . We need more 12 sec Z's!

I test drove an '06 Cayman S (along with a G37S coupe, 335i coupe, and a Prius [JK!]) before I settled on a Z. The Porsche is an AMAZING car - it's almost difficult to put into words. From the sitting position, feel of the shifter, to the way it "snakes" around curves, up to that phenomenal sound of that engine just behind your head.
Unfortunately, it was used, had 30k miles, and was still stickering at $45k. It also had a lovely "air freshener" smell which likened it to a rental inside. BUT IT'S SPECTACULAR. We buy our Z's since that would be the best financial sense for us. I can't afford a new Cayman S; and most Porsche customers who usually dole out cash or hefty down payments for their cars, don't even consider a Z. Yes there are comparisons, but we've got two completely different classes of cars here. The Z is plenty fun; and if I had the money (we're putting a downpayment on a house), I would've gotten a newer Cayman S instead of the Z. But hey, getting a house AND a Z-car. Win-Win, in my book. :TU:

Porsche is better at getting more power to the wheels. Also, the power figures for the Carrera are pre-PDK, so that can't be the reason. |

What about using a third party shop to do your work. I used to take my out-of-warranty Audi to a third party "exotic" mechanic and they only charged $80/hr. Routine maintenance wasn't terrible at all.
