PSS's aren't available yet in our size either so we had to "settle" for the PS2s. I'm hoping the PSS's will be available in our size by the summer/early fall when I need to buy new tires again. Or at least the RE-11s.
Oh wow, I definitely lucked out on finding them in stock. I've only heard good things about the Super Sports, I was on the fence between those and the RE-11s but decided to go for the higher performance option at the expense of tire wear. I drive less than 5,000 miles a year so its not as big of a deal for me.

I just can't get over how well they grip and how aggressive the tread looks!

So, I will have limited Z action today -- a wash/dry, tire pressure check and lug nut torque check. Ho hum.

Tomorrow, however, there will be much Z happiness at the homestead. Mr. ZForce and Mr. Hal are bringing their 370's over and my sons Taylor (TechFracture) and Colin (not a member here due to his becoming a traitor and embracing old Volvos) are installing 25 row Z1 oil coolers with block-off plates. 2 for the price of one.

Mrs. Dr. onzedge is taking advantage of this event and will be going to the movies and lunch with a friend. She just can't handle all of the testosterone and awesomeness all at once.

Will be looking into some new pads soon, ok now with 35k mi on oem pads, starting to get some squeal thou. Is this due to wear, cold weather, or dust behind the pads? Thanks Ken for the info on endless, their products are top notch, you are always a wealth of good information and I enjoy reading your posts.

Throwing this out for some feedback. Are most seeing their rotors shot when the oem pads wear out? Reason in the 350Z 05-06 year models I ran thru the oem set of pads at 25kmi and had to replace the rotors also. With the 370Z having a much improved caliper and I imagine a different rotor. Is everyone having to replace both pad/rotor? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Interesting as I have the extended maint plan, will have to look into my policy. Thanks

They fit the S/P Rays perfectly too, the guy who installed them said he was surprised the larger widths fit so well.

Also, I ordered the last two 285 width tires Tirerack has, they said they don't know when they'll have them in stock again.

Good morning Mr. onzedge, looking forward to tomorrows install. Will be bringing snacks! Send our regards to Mrs. Dr onzedge.

Catching a movie this morning(Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) buying a new box spring, heading to the dump, grocery shopping...then I may need to repaint the front vertical cover plate on one of the oil coolers. A buddy not on this forum (Jim) fabbed up the block off plates and brought some heavy duty 3M velcro. Well it was too heavy as it pulled the paint and warped one of the panels. Straightened it back and the lighter velcro (lowes) is black, but as anal as I am want it looking new and do not want it rust with the paint stripped off. So I may paint it, dunnno with this cold weather and install tomorrow it may not be enough time to cure and the adhesive on the velcro may just gum it up. Will be heading over to auto parts store to get some heater hose to wrap certain sections of the SS lines to eliminate the possibility of the sometimes whine noise these coolers make. On the recommendation from Z1.

cold weather, dust, and wear grooves all contribute to squeaking but if you use the right pads and BrakeQuiet they should not squeak at all.

was your 350Z running Brembos? my G is the last model year that ran the Brembo's on our cars and the rotors have decent amount of wear grooves but the thickness was fine so i just bedded the endless pads in around 23K miles. no issue and plan to run it until the pads wear out. I usually swap rotors every other time the pads wear out. my G is currently around 29K miles.

imho those places that charge for turning the rotors scare customers by showing them the wear grooves like it's some serious issue. unless my calipers ate a rock or something showing catastrophic grooves (which i would just replace the rotors anyway) i just ignore the normal wear grooves and bed new pads in, replace the rotor next time.
