BTW, if you like #205, you should try Menzerna products. I use PO85RD and PO106FA alternately, and it jewels it up much better then Meg's stuff does. Love Menz polishes.

M205 has a good working time, but as mentioned above, M205 doesn't finish quite as nicely as Menz does. If you really want to get those fine scratches out, try out Menz Power Finish or SIP or Meg's 105 with an orange or white pad first, then use M205 or the other Menz stuff mentioned above.

whaaaaaaaat? I love our white man. The hard work into our PW results in not only a really wet look, but also makes the flakes pop, esp in the sun. In the sun, black can't compare to white. And I've had 5 black cars, all polished to perfection.

I agree.... although, even M205 on a more aggressive pad may not be enough. If he wants to stick with Meg's stuff, he should try M105 with a white or orange pad, or use the polishes I mention above.

As for me today, I washed and waxed Zena today.

Water softened H20
ONR capfuls into Pinnacle 2BM
Optimum Power Clean for tires
ARO for rims
Daytona wheel brush
Boar's hair brush for emblems, gas cap area, lug nuts
Dried using FK425 and several MF's
DG Aquawax on rims
Pinnacle SSII for final LSP
Stored her away for the day/night (rain tomorrow).

^ wow, sounds like im reading autopia in your post hahaha

but really, yes i do use a grit guard and 2 bucket method. at least i have ever since i learned about it a few years ago! as for menzerna, ive heard/read great things..but since i honestly dont have much time, and the paint is still new, ill stick to the stuff i have. once i run out of my current products i will definitely look into some better stuff though!

Haha... sorry I get carried away with my "detail" in my posts (pun intended :)). But yes, I'm an avid member of autogeek, autopia, etc and other forums. Used to own and run my own detailing business... just not enough time anymore with the kid growing up. I miss it sometimes. Would it trade it anyday rather than working behind a desk.

But yeah, I hear ya on not much time. But tbh, Menzerna is the king of all polishes. Try it out some time.

no z action today. kid got sick so had to take care of him. did look at my Z a few times while i passed my garage a few times today. :p it's a super busy month. lots of house repair stuff and painting.

FromG2Z 06-07-2011 08:47 AM

Drove Zena to my softball game last night. Enjoyed that immensely. Never gotten so many compliments on a car I've owned. Even more than my FDRx7, and wayyyy more than my G35c.

Also there's a Z/Subie meet this saturday for local Iowa folks.... if you're interested let me know

kenchan 06-07-2011 09:00 AM

that's werd. i only get compliments on my Z from greasy doods and for my G35C i get compliments from both guys and girls... more from girls. might be the way you modded(?) your G35C? :icon17: ;)

my G is pretty much stock looking, just lowered and the SSR wheels, factory lip and a small trunk lip. :)

no z action today either. no time. i will check on her later on tonight though. :p

Alchemy 06-07-2011 09:10 AM

I agree, my 370 gets waay more compliments than anyother car I have owned. Its amazing, I feel like a damn celebrity half the time :) I seriously dont go anywhere without someone saying something about how awesome it is.

ditto. the huge porsche-esque wing sitting on my hatch never fails to attract cell phone cameras :roflpuke2:

if only they knew how much the car cost!

kenchan 06-07-2011 11:44 AM

come to think of it, ive never seen a nismo in real life in my area. ive seen it at shows, etc but not a stock one. ive seen more GTR's than 370Z's too. :D hahaha.

I constantly catch people taking camera phone pics behind me :) I love it. Last summer some guy stopped in at my work just to ask me to come outside and open it up so he could take a pic of the interior!

kenchan 06-07-2011 11:58 AM

wat am i doing wrong? no one asks me to pose with the car... (?) :D

Try wearing something more alluring or skimpy. That may help.

bahaha!

ive never had anyone really ask to take a pic, but a few weeks ago it was quite amusing to see a dude in an evo 9 pull out his iphone and lean over his dash to take a pic while sitting in traffic. :icon18:

drove the Z to work today, its party cloudy with no rain forecasted for the rest of the summer. got to enjoy the glittery goodness of a freshly clayed/polished/sealed pearl white. its sooo buttery smooth :excited:

Yeah I feel that way too sometimes. A few weeks ago, I come out of the store to see 2 ladies in their 40's, professional business dressed peering over my car and talking, pointing, and smiling. They see me come out, then they scurry back to their Lexus. I had a feeling they thought it was a porsche :bowrofl: I felt insulted!!!! :tiphat:

See Chops?!?!?! pearl white polished, glazed, and sealed and waxed is unbeatable IMO.

EDIT: polished and DESWIRLED, that is. ;)

No doubt. What "normal" person would be a member of a car forum and be responding to daily threads of "what did you do with your car"? LOL. Yes, we are all AB-normal. That's for sure.

huh, ok maybe you needed to lower it and get some nice wheels them. hahaha. i too agree that when i see a stock G35C these days it doesn't really sparkle as the first time i saw the 03's with brembo's back in the days. :)

hey, i never wore Griot's shirts~! :D lol actually im not that big on griots as you might think. i only use like their entire line up. ;) jk hahaha.

Yeah the design is still timeless, I agree. However, when you pose the G next to the Z (at least when I did), the G started to show it's simplicity and its age.... that's for sure.

And as far as Griots, you know I'm just givin' ya a hard time :) :p

yep, recent cars have all sorts of angles and decorative lines where as the G back in the days were all for simplicity. nissan used big bumpers front and rear on the G35C so it has the timelessness. but they are cars from 2 different era's no doubt.

which has better styling in my line up? can't compare because the way i put these two cars together they have completely different themes.

my G is for dressup with elegance, my Z is for sport. so i can understand why more greasy doods like my Z than the G. :icon17:

This comment made me look up Griot's. Now I'm thinking about buying a random orbital from them. Do you get a referral fee? lol

Dembflyr 06-07-2011 05:52 PM

I went for a ride today and saw a mid 90's Z28 with a "Import Killer" sticker in the back window. Looked fairly stock. I have no idea if it was capable because I just rolled by.

He looked my way but I guess he didn't feel like committing murder today. :D

Hey, Junkman said that if you're not careful with the Flex you can burn the paint off your car. Are there different flavors of the Flex with a model similar to the PC7424XP?
