LOL :D you guys crack me up. I got the new wheel and tire installed. I'm letting it get to outdoor temp (garage temp) so that I can get the correct psi reading. :)

Washed my Z and Saturn today. Also put a nice coat of wax on the Z then went for a ride.
Unfortunately I went down a road that was being worked on and got her all dirty again.

Zipped home for another quick wash.

Busy day.

took a buddy for a ride, he's scared of quick cars, so that was fun, and ordered a CBE for it. :)

Waiz 05-31-2011 10:08 PM

Just installed a set of Brembo brakes and painted headlights ;)

Remind me never again to do a brake, headlight, and HFC swap/install on the same day again :icon17:

I know!!!!!!! A couple of years ago we got hit with one of these big thunderstorms and my Altima I had at the time was outside, now it was not golf ball size hail, maybe the size of like a green bean, but I did find a few very very small dents on the car, so small I would have to point them out to someone to see them but I knew thet where there LOL. Anyway the Z is all clean and back in the safety of my garage :happydance:

Alchemy 06-01-2011 11:55 AM

My Z was destroyed by hail before I even got my first oil change done. During the storm a huge branch broke off the tree across the street and smashed the trunk & spoiler too. It was terrible. Body shop pulled all those little dents out perfectly though. I have lived in my area all my 31 years and have barely ever seen hail. Since I got my Z in 09 it has hailed numerous times. Just last week I had quarter size hail fall for about a minute.

yah, sorry to hear about the hail. during PDR training ive worked on some hailed cars and it was insane how many dings i had to push out just to finish one car... it was like popping a football field sized bubble wrap one bubble at a time. :icon14: (ok maybe not that insane :icon17: ).

no z action for me today... :(

ClemsonWill 06-01-2011 01:19 PM

Hit 4k miles with her today!

Yeah PDR seems tedious. My car was completely dimpled and you couldnt even tell when I got it back. Impressive.

I'm sitting at 1197 miles!!!! That's what it was when I parked her yesterday. Which means... today, when I get home, and take her out for a car show, I should be able to feel what it feels like to rev up beyond 4k :)

ok ok I admit I did go beyond 4k a few times within those 1197 miles, but never anything close to red line. I don't even KNOW what my Z feels like in its full power band.

yah one would need patience and a pretty good aim to do PDR. took me a good year before i could push a panel using my tool to about 0.5mm area accuracy consistently. :)

My dealer told me I didnt have to break the engine in. I did it anyway but def revved it higher than 4k during the period. Nowadays I bounce off the limiter more than id like to admit. Cant wait for a tune so I can get my redline extended. Have fun G2Z, enjoy!!

What's your rev light set at now, Ken? I have it set for 4k rpm right now. Not a lot of fun :(

LOL. I was tempted SO bad to do it a few times... just felt like DRIVING my car. But I held back. Tonight, my car is losing its virginity.

I've been meaning to post in this thread for a couple of weeks now, so this is more 'the past couple weeks' than it is 'today' - just a catch up

So, with pics (shitty iPhone ones - sorry), I:

1) Used a red acrylic fabric pen to dye my white stitching red (as I saw others had done elsewhere on the forum). Took ages because I'm a perfectionist but it came out pretty good.

http://www.the370z.com/members/super...-out-great.jpg

2) Got that plastic fog light replacement plate (that winds me up SO MUCH) wrapped in a carbon fiber imitation material as a temporary measure before I get the F1-style blinking LED array. Actually, the stuff looks quite good - thinking of doing my b-pillars too! (What do you guys think?)

http://www.the370z.com/members/super...ht-fitting.jpg

3) Found a new home for the Megatron 370z Transformer I bought as part of my obsession before I got my real Z.

http://www.the370z.com/members/super...ransformer.jpg

4) Got her tinted - 15% on the sides, 5% on the quarter rear and rear. Now I'm ready for the Vegas summer heat.

http://www.the370z.com/members/super...vegas-heat.jpg

5) Took her for a cruise around Red Rock loop for a few hours purely to get some nice pics of her under the blue sky with some nice scenery.

http://www.the370z.com/members/super...t-car-pics.jpg

6) Oh, and I ordered a 24-row Stillen Oil Cooler - which I literally JUST got an email about saying it shipped today after a long wait :happydance: - and a Nismo carbon fiber shifter knob, which I only ordered last night so no pics for that.

Now, what to order next...? (Damn... I have the bug)...:ughdance:
