Agreed, the road was clear between my apartment and Starbucks so VDC went off and the gas was hit. Even stock, this thing gets up pretty quick. Woke me up for sure.

anywho...i installed my 15mm spacers with 60mm nismo lugs! (excuse the dirty car..got caught in a drizzle the other day ) rear is pretty much perfectly flush. however the front could go for another 5mm or so, but i forsee lots of rubbing if i went bigger in the front. all in all im thoroughly satisfied and it didnt take that long to do with an impact wrench either!

Chops, your Nismo is looking amazing in profile!

Went motoring this am in the Z. :p. Was a nice drive. After the drive I put the car up on ramps again to add 2 more nuts and bolts to hold the splitter as the tape wasn't holding the piece as snug as I wanted.

Also painted the hood damper brackets matte black. I need to go to the artsy store again to pick up some gunmetal paint. Got a tiny blemish on the rear wheel... :(

Installed my the370Z.com stickers today. Took about 4 hrs, demon bolt really held me up. Overall im impressed with the power gains. Although I have yet to get it on the dyno for official #'s my butt dyno says I have gained at least 10 whp. Best bang per buck mod I have done, $6.00 well spent!

svmtbman 05-22-2011 05:32 PM

Did my first burnout since I broke her in, I'm amazed at how easy it is to smoke up the tires from a stop!

Nismoracer 05-22-2011 06:13 PM

Fixin to go burn some gas.

Fire 05-22-2011 07:41 PM

I attended the Carlisle Imports and Kit car show. At the show was the East Coast Z Nationals. I am happy to say that I took first place in 350/370 Z Modded. This forum rocks.:ughdance:

happytheman 05-22-2011 09:06 PM

QD some bird/bug detritus off my side view mirror.

They make it sooo hard to keep a freshly laundered car clean don't they?

They are the denizens of the Z world! Why can't they ALL be just like penguins....with wings just for show?

Edit: except for hawks and eagles..cuz they kick ***!:icon17:

PapoZalsa 05-22-2011 09:19 PM

Drove back from ZdayZ and got a bunch of bugs on the front bumper and windshield. Put around 1,250 miles during the trip.

happytheman 05-22-2011 09:27 PM

Do not pass GO, do not collect $200...proceed directly to water source for cleansing suds!:)

chops 05-22-2011 10:29 PM

i had a half gallon of this leftover from my daily driver and decided to put 2 coats on my rear wheel wells. next up is to do the front wheel wells (from prior experience 2 coats seem to kill a decent amount of road nose):

then i got some gas and saw this 2012 blue gt-r. owner wasnt an enthusiast though...i gave him a nod and he just looked away. douche

today i ordered up one rear Weds wheel with DW mounted to my buddy Alex over at TR. i want to replace the one that i knicked yesterday. :( the wheel damage is fairly minor, but im not sure how well the cement's going to hold up on the sidewall's rim protector area where the rubber sliced. no radial showing so structrually not an issue but dont want to drive with it like that and hit a pot hole or something for it to bubble.

kenchan 05-23-2011 11:35 AM

hey G2Z- going back to your question about the Ings being too low, scuffing, etc. etc... actually the clearance is huge on the Ings. like 1" more clearance than the side front diffusers (the small flaps in front of the tires which i took off) and a good 1/2 - 3/4" more clearance vs the front factory diffuser.

the only area to watch out for is the corners... the very front of the Ings is tucked right under the front bumper so no issue.

just giving you an idea on the clearance. :D no issue going up/down my ramps with extensions either.

WHOA WHOA... wait, so Ken, you're telling me that the Ings lip/splitter actually sits HIGHER than the stock diffusers? Really? I thought I read from some folks here that it definitely sits lower???? Did you measure it?

If it truly is higher, this might be a splitter I will get....

yep. :)

no need to measure, i know from me removing the stock sports diffuser and me installing the ings that the ings sits higher with better clearance. :D

Slightly off topic but I'm lazy today LOL. What is the name of the Z show that was held in NC over the weekend. I'd like to attend next years show. And no I don't expect to win best 370z modded there.

I stopped looking at your pics after I saw the exposure levels....

I kid I kid ;)

Pics look great Ken! That lip goes very well with your CF fangs. From what I can tell the lip does look to be at least the same height as the OEM one, but the difference is that it sits further out front than the OEM diffuser. I wonder if that would make more or less prone to scuffing?

kenchan 05-23-2011 03:25 PM

G2Z- lol! thanks. im embarrased to post these picts now. ;) naw, im totally comfortable using a teddybear cartoon mug at work my wife gave me 20yrs ago so no issue. :D

only the corners sit about 4.5" further forward to make the facia square up front but the center part of the splitter lines up with the bumper. as for the clearance, the lowest part of the lip sits exactly on the plane where the small stock side diffuser pieces mount. im physically using one of the 3 screws per side to mount the Ings.

the small side diffuser flaps extend about 2" from the mounting point downward. the Ings has nothing that extends downward from that point so it has more ground clearance. :)

onzedge 05-23-2011 03:35 PM

Ken -- that looks great. How about a side view pic?

thanks, it's not big so i dont think i need to get the side pieces and rear.

it might look cleaner without the splash guards though...

Dzel 05-23-2011 03:52 PM

I was thinking of just doing a front lip and hood myself. I want my cbe to show when ever I do get one.

kenchan 05-23-2011 03:58 PM

yah, i was scratching my head when i first saw my side view pict because the CF color made the front look lifted but it really doesn't in real life. my droidx's camera can't seem to distinguish the silver and CF and focuses on the silver making the CF look like a shade.

CF actually has many different colors when light hits it which goes undetected by pos camera. :( :D
