Ran the dragon today. Was relatively pleased with the way it handled.

Yes, and when you consider the time to take off the oil pan cover while using two floor jacks 9.49 seems resonable.

Stinks in my garage right now... :D

onzedge 05-20-2011 09:48 AM

^^^That looks very nice.

FromG2Z 05-20-2011 10:28 AM

^^^^ Ken, I agree... that looks stellar. Were you coating it in an extra layer of clear? So you had to sand it down?

Also, I am really interested in this spoiler, however I am very worried about scraping. If that happened to something I just paid 600 bucks for, I would lose it....

Can you let me know your thoughts on that matter, Ken?

nynhex 05-20-2011 12:19 PM

Had my SS spoiler installed today. Should help tie the black together around the car.

Thanks onzedge. :D

G2Z thanks. :D I was expecting the lip to be a finished product ready for install but it was just a raw CF still with rough edges, no clearcoat just resin. The resin was not sanded where it was glued together. It literally needed a full prep. Probably cost another 150-250 to have this professionally done.

The clear I used has UV blocker so I don't expect the CF to yellow anytime soon.

After I let it dry 24hrs or so I will be pulling out my mild polish and 3" orbital to get the super shine. :p krylon states it dries in 2 hrs. :)

kenchan 05-20-2011 12:28 PM

G2Z- on the thought of scuffing the lip... its bound to happen on any lip. :D if you do the painting yourself like i did then obviously it will be a lot cheaper to fix it cause you know wat to do and wat paint to use. I don't expect to be scraping mine too often if at all.

kenchan 05-20-2011 12:29 PM

Nynhex- spoiler's looking good! :D

Thanks. I actually really enjoyed the process of installing it. Sure there were times that I thought it would never be finished. But now I'm having an even better time driving it.

Thanks Ken, wasn't sure about the placement at first but after studying pictures it's pretty damned close. TI Shift knob should be here Monday, this weekend I'll probably install my 12k HIDs and rev/parking lights from V-Led.

kenchan 05-20-2011 01:04 PM

Yah looks centered and all. So how was it drilling holes in your new car? :D

It's not exactly new, it's an 09. But yeah didn't bother me. It was easy considering I had my body shop do it lol

TheGreatOne 05-20-2011 03:45 PM

Hadn't wash my car in a week (longest its been so far) since its mostly been raining.

Finally get to it last night...I see some scratches near my door handle. Must be door dings....not happy :( first real blemish on the Z....one is like an inch and seemed to take the paint off (I know our paint is thin) but it must have been a hell of a swing of their door to do that

kenchan 05-20-2011 03:51 PM

That sucks thegreatone. :( maybe your dealer can PDR it out and you can put some touch up using Langka? :)

Red__Zed 05-20-2011 03:55 PM

My car turned two today.

I may have already asked you this Ken, and if I have....please forgive: Have you used the Langka process for blemish fixes on your Z?

Fatalsports 05-20-2011 03:58 PM

Ordered these today with Hankook V12s :happydance:

Nope. I don't have blemishes yet on the car...only on the stock wheel when the tire shop fixed(?) The flat. :shakes head:

LunaZ 05-20-2011 04:06 PM

Not a damn thing. Haven't even driven the car in a week.
Actually, I looked at the springs and spacers in my garage and wondered when the hell I was going to ever get those parts installed. Doesn't matter. The world ends tomorrow, anyway.

Langka is a good system, I've also looked into Dr. Colorchip. May be worth a try especially since they can factory match with their quick-cure paint.

ZForce 05-20-2011 08:54 PM

Washed both cars, detailed. Mounting GoPro and DSLR in cabin for tomorrows Run.

3rd alignment today, different shop.

kenchan, the dealers rack was out of calibration...yeh! New front camber -1.6 and -1.5, got the toe set to zero both front and back.

Wow...how quick the steering response is, I have only driven a few miles since alignment, but like it alot so far. .....will know better after tomorrows run...but I am doing the happy dance. The technician said sometimes for the wild variations in camber can be caused by not having the scope reader mounted properly on the rim.

I will post up the sheets probably Sun.

kenchan 05-20-2011 10:25 PM

Zforce sounds good! Yah the previous numbers at the other shop made no sense. :D
So u got zero toe in the rear? No wandering in the back over bumps on one side of car??

ZForce 05-20-2011 11:35 PM

No wandering, I just took it on three on/off ramps (right hand turns with bumps) and rock solid. I will know better tomorrow after I wring it out on the Run.

It would appear that the Langka system does not use color matching. You start by using a bottle of your manufacturers touch up paint. I briefly read Dr. Colorchip's system once before, but need to look again.
