I talked about driving it

Red__Zed 05-07-2011 09:20 PM

took it out on a quick jaunt. I'm really loving the swift springs!

SmoothZ 05-07-2011 09:37 PM

The 370 on Swift springs look fanfuckintastic. :yum:

Oh, and I put over a 100 miles on my Z today. Found some awesome roads and mostly led a caravan of 30 Z's and G's.

That's a pretty good caravan! Sounds like good times.

happytheman 05-07-2011 11:28 PM

As a follow up to my earlier post....

I actually only drove my Z 1 1/4 miles each way to pick up the (hopefully) winning Lottery and Powerball tix.

Happy... at first I was cringing after reading your posts about Z washing. Then as I got into it, I thought to myself... PLEASE PLEASE be a joke...

If it wasn't a joke, Ken would have to sell you on all his Griots stuff... :ughdance::bowrofl:

Ken, I responded to your pm ;) sorry took so long, was on road yesterday.

Yes, the black base o ring comes with it! It needs it... it serves as the transition (and barrier) between the knob itself and the boot. I think someone said to put the o ring UNDER the knob, but I don't think it looked right that way. The o ring has a taper to transition the smaller diameter knob to the larger diameter boot. You'll see what I mean when you put it on.

So THAAAAAAT's why you got the strap wrench?!?!?! ;) Go for the Ti knob Ken!!! I LOVEEEEEE it.

Oh yah, I'll be honest with you..I'm still getting my methodology in place for my Z. Right now I do perform a two bucket wash, with a leaf blower dry and then a QD with microfiber cloth to ensure that there's no water spots.

What I'm still working through are the "best fit" products to use regarding total car care..from wheel cleaner/wax, to tire cleaner/dressing, to paint polish/wax, to interior care (including leather) and glass cleaners. It's a bit of a testing grounds right now, but eventually I'll have it dialed in!:icon17:

ZForce 05-08-2011 11:04 AM

Mounted up some fat meat on the sport rims and just got in the mail some camera mount goodies.

kenchan 05-08-2011 11:07 AM

Ah... it's an addiction once you get into it. I'm a fan of ALL quality products. It's sad, but I have close to 5k invested over the years :ugh2:

weighted??? hmmmm I never weighed the stock vs the nismo knob. It feels very solid in the hand, and movement from gear to gear has a a nice firm feel to it. I don't know if it weighs more or lighter than the oem knob. If I were to venture a guess, maybe same if not less? Maybe someone else on here who has the knob can chime in?

Same here, I feel you on that... I always laugh every time I look at all the detailing supplies and then think about how many actually get used regularly. It is an expensive hobby since you spend so much trying new products just to find the ones that become your favorite haha.

I am leaving for Shanghai for 7 weeks so I took the Z out to get a haircut and am about to do a QD wipedown before covering her up with my Saab silk indoor car cover lol.

Hahaha, went to the mall and dinner afterwards. My Fit's front disc pads are toast. I need to take it into carmax and sell it. :D

I buy QD by the gallon. I use about 3 gallons per season which isn't too bad. :p

Thanks again. I ordered it anyway. Hahaha. Hope to have that in my hands literally by the weekend. :p

onzedge 05-08-2011 09:39 PM

Gave her a nice bath (low res Droid photos):

LunaZ 05-08-2011 10:28 PM

Gave her a bath and put the cover on her so she'll be clean and ready for action when I get back from NYC.

Looked at my Swift Springs and H&R spacers and said to myself "I'll get around to putting those on someday".

kenchan 05-09-2011 06:37 AM

Looking good, onzedge!

I have 15mm in rear installed (Ichiba) and 15 mm (H&R) for the front (they are uninstalled at the moment). I need a weekend free to do the fronts along with my springs and camber arms. Weekends have been tight all year for some reason. Stupid work is overflowing its Monday through Friday boundaries on a consisten basis. On a shelf in my garage sit the springs, arms and spacers.

I am hoping the first weekend in June to be free, otherwise I am going to have to do the honorable thing and call in one day and just do it. Actually, I call it "calling in well", not sick. It is when you feel too well to go into work.

When feeling good why should one subject one's self to the assault on one's will to live that work delivers?

Have a great day, Mr. Kenchan.

ahh, i see. since your car and wheel colors are dark i couldn't tell if that front was still at ET47 or pushed out just a tad. :)

i like 'call in well' tactic and reasoning. :icon18: my week and weekend's are pretty tight too right now and i dont expect much slowing down until at least memorial day weekend. i hope to get my ings+ front splitter by then and install it. :p

my dd Fit's front brake pad indicator is telling me i need to swap out the pads soon...i think im either going to take it to the dealer to get raped or midas or one of my buddy's shop and have it done. i have the means to do it in my garage, but rather be spending that time and energy on my Z. :D

have a great day too!

SPOHN 05-09-2011 12:09 PM

Gave my car a once over. Making sure everything is in top shape.

FromG2Z 05-09-2011 12:09 PM

onzedge, very nice. I am still a great fan of the 40th color. Gorgeous.

Flushnismo 05-09-2011 12:17 PM

Finally got to use my stoner complete car care kit..FANTASTIC  Then decided to wire up my rear fog..just never got around to it, but man that thing is Bright. I love it. Still waiting for my wheels from Rick (2 months later than they were suppose to be here) hopefully they will be here this week. :shakes head:

TWYNBYZ 05-09-2011 01:43 PM

Will be removing the drivers side wheels to get powder coated black. Once those are done, the passenger side wheels are next. I also ordered my LED interior lights from thirdgearperformance and ordered a carbon fiber shift knob and black Nismo valve stems from the Nissan race shop @ Fontana Nissan.

kenchan 05-09-2011 01:50 PM

CGMMNY- sounds good. those black nismo valve stems are metal, correct?

is there a reason why you're not doing all 4 wheels at one time? hope you're getting the center caps painted too. ive seen some with black wheels yet the caps were frikken 'evybody look over here' silver. :icon08:

Econ 05-09-2011 02:14 PM

installed my ARK exhaust, and love it!

kenchan 05-09-2011 02:51 PM

is that the one that looks like the HKS one?

happytheman 05-09-2011 07:39 PM

Looks kinda like a FI.

Edit: Whoops, just looked at the HKS, and guess wha? It looks like FI too! :)

Lemers 05-09-2011 07:40 PM

Mine got sand blasted again

happytheman 05-09-2011 07:45 PM

Time for repaint?

Red__Zed 05-09-2011 07:47 PM

Only got to look at it...no driving today :(

Lemers 05-09-2011 07:47 PM

No we get bad 50+ mph sandstorms here. My insurance will do 1 repaint so I'll wait til I get orders to leave.

tomnavone 05-09-2011 07:48 PM

Dropped car off at shop for more fun stuff: motodyne intake manifold, slillen splitter, alignment, black handles and finally more dyno tuning.
