What did you do with your Z today

You sure you didn't have your leaf blower on the whole time in the garage, Ken? As far as plasti dipping, how is the durability of that, esp on rims

As far as plasti dipping, how is the durability of that, esp on rims where they can get hot from both engine heat and braking???

oh is dat's watz going on? lol nono, it was actually perfect to paint in there. 75F, not muggy, and low wind condition.

for most street driving ive not gotten the wheels super hot to the touch. from wat they say, it handles -30F to 200F so i dont think heat will be a problem on the wheels unless you're pounding the brakes on a road course or downhill in the touge.

200F is 93C so that's pretty hot.

Went out to get some food and thats it.

update on my vestito kit.

STILL NOTHING HERE.

but as I said before they were offering a free new one but we have to pay the shipping. so my tunerguy has decided to pay for the shipping to help us out. he is going to his insurance to try and get the money back but still its so nice of him to pay for the shipping without knowing if he will get his money back.

don't know if it was air shipping or with boat again.

also FML I have been looking for tire dealers so I can check for prices on the yokohama ADVAN neova ad08. NOBODY has them, and I don't mean not in stock. they don't know the tires, they go "lol you mean the ADVAN sport?"

5 tire dealers and nobody knows them. but then again if you go on yokohama belgium's site you don't see the neova nor the A048. so probably they don't sell the tires here FML

Plasti dip is good to maybe 200f. Your brakes will get over 600f on a decent cruise.

you know i come home after my drive to clean my wheels and i can touch my wheels without going ACHII KUSO BAKAYAROU! so it's nowhere near 200F. it's near hot to the touch but not like the exhaust tips.

I mean, after a commute, they should be ok. But if you take the back roads, they will be getting toasty.

I have my rear valance plasti dipped, no problems from exhaust heat. Rims should hold up. While researching the uses of plasti dip on automobiles I came across many people doin rims w it. As far as durability I hear its actually more chip resistant than spray paint due to its rubbery nature.

excellent info! btw, does the plasti-dip lose that sticky feel after it's completely dry?

be kind of difficult to clean wheels with that.

Glad to hear there's no problems with the plasti dip on rear valence from exhaust, that's my upcoming weekend project! How long have you had it plasti-dipped?

I drove my car 5 minutes to work and it's just been sitting there because I am too busy with projects to go out today.

Well.. I am posting on here, but I needed a breather

Finally dropped my car off at my friend's house tonight. Hopefully, the exhaust will be fixed and the intake piping with the new intercooler will be done in time for Cars and Coffee Saturday morning...my dad is actually wiling to go to a car event with me for the first time ever!

Very cool, on both counts! I am trying to get my dad to come to C&C Williamsburg this Saturday too (He has a Miata-I hear they have awesome doors). It will be a big one as it is our 1 year anniversary. We have a couple of different caravans coming in from around the region. Best of luck on the piping!
