PWDJDM: What is the weight of the knob compared to stock?

Super Tanooki 11-28-2011 07:49 PM

I just bought the Stillen G3s from a friend used. :)

The filters are a little dirty. Is there a makeshift routine for cleaning them other than ordering the K&N stuff?

pedZ 11-28-2011 08:11 PM

I had the roof, fangs, and diffuser wrapped in vinyl today. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I did the roof in glossy black and the fangs/diffuser in matte black. Here are some pics.

I have always used the K&N kit and am not aware of a shortcut. Make sure you get the kit with the aerosol oil -- it is much easier to meter the small amount you need and not over-saturate the filter. Also -- take the time to clean your MAF's while you are at it. Use CRC MAF cleaner -- it is as simple as pie.

I installed them myself. Very easy to do, don't pay anyone to do it. I looked at the DIY and it really took me less than 2 hrs to install the kickplates, light, and dynamat.

That looks really good pedelg! I like how you mixed the use of the flat black and gloss. Tell me, did they vinyl the antenna as well? Was it pre-cut or custom?

Thanks happy! Yeah, they did the antenna as a separate piece separated by the rubber between the roof and antenna.. It was a custom job using 3M vinyl.

Looks nice. Do you have any farther-away shots of the car with the vinyl on? I want to see the whole picture :)

This is as far away as I have, but you can't really see the roof too much.

Got JDM tail lights from the forum member last night. Tonight I did the installation. What nissan was thinking when designing the tail lights. Servicing the tail lights will be a pain in the a55.

SPOHN 11-29-2011 12:21 PM

Removed my track numbers. I'm also shopping for a possiable six puck clutch.

And on a side note while I was at the track this past weekend we had ambient temps of 72 and with my 34R my oil temps never went past 220. So I was happy about that.

kenchan 11-29-2011 12:45 PM

sounds good, SPOHN!

Of course not -- I am sure it was on a controlled track environment.

New inspection sticker today. Guy who takes my info down made fun of me for already having snow tires on :/

bonus: it was a Nissan dealership.

kenchan 11-30-2011 06:56 AM

Easy- don't worry. Ive been driving a month on snows (G) with no snow yet either. :D

mrcoolguyface 11-30-2011 06:58 AM

While we are on this topic... Do snow tires make that much of a difference? I'm planning on buying a designated snow only 18 inch wheels tire setup soon... Hoping its worth it.

I'm guessing you've never driven on snow tyres before.
Compared to high performance summer tyres, which will get you nowhere once the road is snow covered, the difference is night and day. You'll be pleased with your purchase!
