Drove it to work and depressingly drove it home knowing the drag strip was closed due to rain for the 2nd week in a row :(

That blows..I've been looking forward to some solid results! Do you have any pre-single turbo runs to compare with?

FromG2Z 09-08-2011 10:11 PM

Just came back from test driving an A5 3.2 quattro, as a "possible", albeit very slim chance of replacing my Z. But alas, let's just say I was delighted to get back and drive my Z again. Though the A5 was sleek, I was not impressed with the cushy ride, soft clutch, spongy brakes, long shift throws, and slow performance. My Z was the opposite of that. It was just more "raw", which I love.

Chalk one up for the Z.

It's killlingggg me! I ran a 13.2 @ 107mph with boltons... I haven't ran it yet with the turbo.

I LOVE the look of the A5/S5 and would have bought an S5 if I could have afforded one. I won't be mad if you switch.

No scratches at all. What you see is a reflection of some light colored objects in front of the car. I'd hate myself if my car was all scratched up

I think it's amazing how much of a difference the Swift springs make! Throw a set of sweet wheels and Swift springs on your ride...and it's dramatic transformation is so hawt!

Im sorry to hear that you had a dissatisfying experience with the Audi, but on the flip side.....

:welcome: BACK TO THE Z SIDE!!

Assuming that you would leave us behind...you would be sorely missed on the boards. I know, I know..go ahead...you guys can begin the flaming! Here, I'll even get you started!

Gotz a tracking no for the jnext. My buddy got it much earlier than expected and knowing I'm wrapping things up over here he shipped it instead of handcarrying it over mid-oct. :D

I really like that body car! I think it may be my favorite sport sedan. My brother says the S is a whole different animal behind the wheel. He is a big VW Audi guy.

haha... thanks Happy. Yeah, the A5 was just too "soft". Our Z's are loud and rough... and fact is, I LOVE that aspect of our Z's... The "raw-ness". I think you guys know what I mean. If I explained this to a non Z owner, they wouldn't get it.

It's a sport coupe, not sedan ;) Yeah if I were to replace my Z with something with a back seat, it will have only 2 doors :) That's a must for me. But yeah, the A5 looked great, but still love my Z way better. Only cars I think that "might" replace it would be an M3 (used), a Stang shelby (used), a Stang 5.0 new (let the flames begin), a G37 vert used, and that's about it.

Now about the quote regarding the week, yes, it's been a long and difficult week. I am ready for this day to be over. Buddy is visiting us this weekend, so I'll be giving him a ride in the Z. Haven't seen him in close to a year.

Going through withdrawal. Haven't driven the Z in 8 days - been driving the Altima. Drove it today, missed rowing through the gears and stomping on the go pedal. :)

kenchan 09-09-2011 08:37 AM

G2Z- JNext makes these mini fender trims painted or non-painted. I always thought the z looks good with decent offset on the front when looked at from the back but it sticks out too much when looked at from the front. So going to give these a shot and see how far out I can push the weds. My goal is landing at ET24. Weds recently released a 19x9.5 ET24 so I'm wanting to get those next. (Mine are 19x9) :p

this is why i dont speed

FromG2Z 09-09-2011 09:57 AM

^ how is that possible? The only way to get a ticket without your radar going off (even if you are "caught", it should still go off, that you were detected), is to get a camera ticket in the mail. Maybe you need a new detector?!?!?!

onzedge 09-09-2011 10:13 AM

The last speeding ticket I got, my radar emitted a single beep and then silence. I was headed North on 99 just south of Yuba City, early in the morning, and the CHP was coming in the opposite direction. As soon as he passed I saw his brakelights come on in my rearview and he whipped a U-turn.

After all the paperwork was complete I asked him how he got me. He explained that they run around with their radar in passive, stand-by mode and that, with a single push of a button, can get an instant read on your speed.

The 9500ix is still a great unit and has saved me on many occasions.

Had my first experience with a "camera ticket" a couple of weeks ago. It was in my name but it was my son's car. They had stills printed on the letter of him making a right turn on red without the "stop" part. They also had a great quality video online to view with laser verified speed posted in the corner. There was no doubt he was guilty. In our area, it cost him $50 and no ding on your license or insurance. You could fight it if you want but he would have lost.
:owned:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... I hate that I can't own a radar detector!!!
