sorry to hear christian. :( that is just unbelievable how stupid some folks can be.

happy- oh no... not again~! :( my one rear wheel is still damaged with mount marks from the local stupid redneck fatarse hotdog brain so called 'tire store.' i drive out to tirerack for new tires or go to a local speed shop with touchless mounter. i will absolutely not trust anyone mounting tires without a touchless mounter. it's just not physically possible to mount these large wheels with performance tires without one.

BajaZ 09-10-2011 03:27 PM

that sucks .. hopefully it doesn't have to come out of your pocket.. you have to be more anal, i always ask over and over when i take it somewhere to get a job done: "so the car is not going to have any damage afer?" they get mad some times but hell, its my car and i want to take care of it :)

Nope, I wish it was a joke but alas, it is not. Here are some pictures, fairly self explanatory as to what happened. The deepest scratches were on the quarter panel where they used it to step up onto the hood and the first foot print on the driver's side of the hood.

I hope that guy has some serious bad luck soon. A nice case of e-coli infection to start! I am very sorry to hear this!

PapoZalsa 09-10-2011 04:45 PM

Well I have neglected my Z even that I wash it and keep it clean on the regular basis.

However today I decided that it was going to be the day for the Z with no hurry. Gave her a good bath and a nice coat of wax with ICE. I also polish out a scratch that was caused by the ceiling drywall in my garage that a piece felt on the quarter panel. But still need some work, is not noticeable but to me it is.

Well that is my fault because is one of those house repair jobs that I have neglected to do. But I'm buying a cover for my car now. :shakes head:

Then took her for a ride to get the new spring settle, some premium gas and get some pics with the new drop on TEINs.

Plus I got the SPC camber kit this week and need to order the spacers.

My hands will go no where near my pockets when it comes time to have the bill paid up! I didn't move my vehicle an inch without reporting it first....AND they were aware of the condition pre-damage because I had a discussion with the dude before the work was performed and pointedly indicated the wheel's perfection.

Yah, this made me more mad than when I'd done it myself.... At least then I had no one to blame but my carelessness, you know?

It has finally stopped raining here in Central PA, so I took the opportunity to give Stella a much needed bath. After a week of slick-tyre hooliganism in monsoon like conditions and a visit to the dealer for an oil change, fresh rubber, an alignment and state inspection, she was a filthy girl!

Cleaning your car properly always makes you aware of every nick and stone chip, so I know when a mark is new.
I discovered this one today:

http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315700951

I can only conclude that the technician working on my car was careless when getting in and out and caught his shoe on the doorsill.

When I got to detailing the wheels, I found this:

http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315700951

 WTF?!?!?!
I understand that some sort of tool might have been necessary to start removing the weights from the wheel before balancing, but what did this guy do, use a chisel to remove the adhesive?
On the other wheels, there are some small nicks from where the old weights were removed and the adhesive was still there. I'm guessing the other three wheels got lucky because they didn't need new weights where the old ones were previously. It took me all of a minute on each wheel to remove the remaining adhesive with a towel and some Liquid Wrench.

This is just not going to fly with me.
Looks like I'm making a trip back to the dealer first thing Monday morning to bring these details to the service manager.

Ugh!

Looks like you have some other type of damage on the rim or it might be the camera shot angle.

Sorry to hear about all the Z carnage today. Hope you all get your issues worked out without too much trouble.

Well, went to work on the BMW and expected a full day or pulling ferrings, plugs, and fuel lines. Bike stays plugged in all the time with a "battery tender" like complete charging system... on on the second hit of the button she came to life. Checked the fluids, topped off the front brake resivoir and she is 100%. Wife and I took my parents out to dinner. We took the beemer and they drove the roadster for the first time. We all had a blast!!!

Gotta say it... the Stang looks sick! Nicely done!

bacalhau16 09-10-2011 08:29 PM

Washed and waxed mine today. Was much needed.

Fire 09-10-2011 11:29 PM

Congrats Red on your yawn Rustange yawn . Atleast you have your WRX to drive.

kenchan 09-11-2011 07:18 AM

Luna- that's pretty typical unless u remove the weights before taking the wheels in. They use a screw driver and razor to remove old weights. :(

Beach - on the bike!

Going to pull out my z in 30. :)

I guess. Didn't realize removing my own wheel weights before getting new tyres installed would be a necessary move to prevent my stuff from being ruined.

happytheman 09-11-2011 11:17 AM

No Z action for me yet..just woke up after getting called in to work for 13 hours.

Stupid WAN router took the next millennium off. Hard failure...completely unresponsive. We have a four hour parts replacement with Cisco that took eight hours to receive. :shakes head:

Gotta love Cisco. One of my clients is the third party logistics company that handles Cisco parts. I hope it was not them who caused the delay.
