SPOHN 09-06-2011 12:36 PM

I checked tire pressure and lugs. Drove here to work in the rain. I usually don't take out when raining but starting today I said F it. I have to drive this baby more often. I only drove my 350 23,000 miles in three years before I totaled it. So I really didnt get to enjoy it more with all the money I had in it.

need to check tire psi this week as temps are coming down.

Remind me to do that too, Ken. Temps are in 50's now for me... esp in mornings. Don't they say for winter, to OVERinflate our tires? Do you know what the recommended # is for winter storage in garage?

Ah no big deal Spohn... my G was 8 years old by trade-in, and only had 13k miles. But those were a VERY enjoyable 13k miles ;)

Just PDR, they were able to buff out the rest of the damage free of charge. as it is, the estimate is about $370 to get them out. Fortunately the other person's insurance is paying for it.

i use 42psi @ 32-33F on flat stoppers. my garage can get to 25F on the coldest day in winter which means psi only goes down to 41psi at most.

btw, do you need a set of flatstoppers? I have a full set that i wont be using now that my G's a dd. they go for 250+ new.
Amazon.com: Race Ramps RR-FS Flatstopper - Set of 4: Automotive

sell you mine in like-new condition for $175 shipped (it's a fairly big box). :p

left mine in the shop ...

the tire pressure indicator came on today during a brief errand. I swung by the dealer.
they pumped it up with some NO2 and changed the oil.
On the drive out, i noticed the indicator light still on.
so i u-turned back into the shop.
they took it back - and disengaged the battery to reset the indicator.
all was good until about a block away, it popped on again.
so i u-turned again, and they gave me a loaner...

too bad it's an altima, not the GTR they had on the floor..

yah, i prefer vinyl too. not only is it replaceable it protects the paint. :)

Just gave it a quick water-less wash wipe down to keep her clean until tomorrow, ordering a Dr. Color Chip kit to touch up some small rock chips here and there.

Let us know how that color-chip stuff works out. I don't need it yet on my Z but would be nice to see how effective it is.

Rain all day long, so the Z stayed in the garage.

Skeeterbop 09-06-2011 07:45 PM

Got my car back from the body shop and gotta say, you would never know somebody backed into the passenger side door.

Hello, Mr. Kenchan. :tiphat:

As I read all of the posts about putting away the Z for winter time, I am filled with gratitude and thankfulness that where I live the worst we get is rain and a little cold.

I drive one of my Z's year round, but I do miss actual winter weather. I guess I get my fill of it each December when we go back to the farm in Battle Lake, MN.

kenchan 09-07-2011 09:59 AM

mr.onzedge- actually the winter works out for me because i wrap up my car hobby around Nov and concentrate on my music stuff all winter long... then in spring pull out my car for a fresh start. :p we dont have many 'fun' roads around here so rather than get bored driving the same ol' roads throughout the season i like to close up shop and take a break for a few months.

somatic 09-07-2011 09:59 AM

in texas, theres never bad enough weather to "garage" a car. only a couple of days of ice each year, very little snow//

LT419 09-07-2011 12:07 PM

Regarding that Dr. Color Chip stuff, is the GT-R KAD code (Gun Metallic) the same as the Z's? They don't list the Z under available 2011 models, but they do list the GT-R with seemingly the same paint...

I would just pick 2010 Z and pick the gun metallic for that one - I looked on the site and had to pick 2010 and get RAE for Monterey Blue because 2011 wasn't available.

Just one problem with that: Gun Metallic didn't exist in 2010. :p

Ill be taking mine off the road in November as well. Hate that time of year, it means back to driving my beater Explorer. But then again my Z would never be able to get me up to the mountain to snowboard so I guess its ok. Slow and boring but ok. Time to start planning next seasons mods.

yep, my brainstorming has started. :p i think it's good to have time off from the Z cause i appreciate her more when spring comes around.

in other news... hey, sold the flatstoppers already to a member!

where did you order it from? It seems like everyone has that kit, mostly the fake one.

directly from amuse themselves with the help of the guy that works on my car.

first it was delayed because of you know, earthquake and tsunami. then it got send then they lost the package somehow.

they wanted to send a new one for free but I would have to pay for shipping. the guy from the tuning garage paid for the shipping out of his own pocket and now its finally almost here.

And I don't give a damn that everyone has it. according to amuse themselves this is the first vestito in europe.
