this weekend i was traveling home from dinner with my soon-to-be wife and we were cruising about 80mph on the interstate. suddenly we noticed a deer standing in the middle of the road. naturally i hit the brakes and amazingly went from 80 to <10mph in a split second. thank God i got the 370z with the sport package brakes! i have only had my z for about 4 weeks but man do i love it!

Damn that looks great, those are the exact sizes I was thinking about. Where did you buy the tires from? I'm sure the RE-11s must feel amazing and offer a huge amount of grip!

How is Snowshoe??? I was down there a few years ago building slopeside condos. Didnt get to ride as it wasnt winter but the place was amazing for mtn biking. Seems like a decent mtn, esp for being in WV. That place was in the middle of nowhere. It was seriously almost a full day trip to get to a Home Depot for supplies. Would have loved to have my Z on those mtn roads. I have over 20+ years skating/snowboarding and have luckily only dislocated my pinky skating a bank ramp in my early 20's, lol lame I know. Knock on wood, I have never broken anything.

Thanks guys!!! Yeah I got tired of Ken asking me where my DSLR is... LOL... take THAT. :D Pics look a little better Ken? I didn't even shoot those in RAW mode :ugh2:

As for the leather bra, HAHA... don't worry, you guys aren't the ONLY ones giving me a hard time about that. Essentially, I had blue tape over the clear bra, then the leather bra on top of that. Why? Because I'm utterly ridiculous. LOL. I now think that my clear bra is like my paint, hence I must protect it further.... Aren't I terrible? I know I have issues..... :bowrofl:

lol! :icon18: yah, we got so use to your DSLR shots i was like :gtfo2: when i saw your cel pict. :icon17: ;) jk

ive not shot in RAW mode yet. i'll see how the D3100's decoder compares vs photoshop element's processing. at my level i dont think it's going to make much of a difference.... i have other issues (exposure, focus area, metering) to worry about first. :icon14:

Yeah I hear ya... I shot a few of those shots last night in aperture mode, some in shutter mode, some in full auto. I'm not good at it by any means... I just shoot and play, I guess. That's the beauty of digital shots, just keep shooting! And when all else fails, just put it in auto. It gets in right 85-90% of the time.

LunaZ 07-26-2011 09:29 AM

Had a big moment on my kenchan home from Williamsport.
Hit a wet spot while changing lanes at highway speed and the car gave me a wicked tank-slapper that must have looked something like what we saw at Silverstone two weeks ago. Resolved to order my RE-11's next paycheck.

Upon purchasing a new caliper retaining bolt from my local Nissan dealer, (yeah, I lost one due to my absentminded, distracted reassembly ) I realized that my jack will no longer slide past the FI exhaust to reach the rear differential on my now lower car. So it's off to Home Depot to get some 2X10's to drive the car up onto.

Had bath time this morning.

yah, that last shot looks especially tuff cause the sun is on a pretty low angle and you have a lot of cars facing different directions with all sorts of shadows + high exposure on the hood on the farther end of the image...so i'd probably try a manual mode 50-55mm with f/22-25 on a tripod nail 1/4 to the left center of the image, meter mid-exposure and shoot with a 2 sec timer.

mr.onzedge, beach, your comments please!

I like how everyone has been kenchaning their cars. No kenchaning in my Z for me today... I had to drop the kid off today. Drove the Civic..

Although, Z related story, I gave my 2 year old a blue and red 370z hotwheel I got for him as I dropped him off at daycare today. As he was sitting in the back seat playing, he goes, "This like daddee's car?". I said, "Yes! That IS like daddy's car! It's a Nissan!". (saying "370Z" is probably still too long for him). He looks up, smiles, and proceeds to say, "I like Nissan's cars!"... perfect grammar and everything. Cracked me up. I have him trained well.

haha... thanks man. Oooh, I forgot another story... he was playing with his Z cars, and he knows that of ALL his hotwheels (he has over 80 or so), the 370Z cars are "daddy's". So my wife was playing with him as I was doing dishes, and I hear him say loudly to her "No MAMA!!! That's Daddy's car!!!", as I see him take the car away from his mom.

HAHA.... nothing like a protective son....esp when it comes to cars. :icon18:

Need details on how this ding came about. Front or rear? plus, I hope you are planning to get that fixed?

and yeah no doubt, you are "focused" (pun intended) on figuring out how to shoot great pictures on your DSLR. ;)

btw, for those of you thinking my leather bra is on the whole time, that's just on during a long highway jaunt... although, I am warming up to the idea that the clear bra should suffice...
