Drawing out my game plan for things to come in the next 6 months:

Invidia Gemini CBE
ERZ HFC
Stillen Front Splitter
HPS Intake Tubes
K&N Drop In Filters

I'm assuming the HPS and K&N don't require a tune for A/F like the actual Long Tube intakes do. Anyone clear that up for me?

Dzel 08-01-2011 10:32 AM

Yeah minor modes like that will not need a tune or an ECU reset.

kenchan 08-01-2011 10:36 AM

yah, no need for tune. im running the HPS/KN setup right now and i like it. very smooth and quiet to the top.

btw, this am some midwest fat woman scared me when i opened the garage cause she was parked on my driveway behing my G. i was thinking WTF woman! :gtfo2: and she stepped out of her car and handed me a small box with what appeared to be my new USB drive for the Z inside. :p she was a delivery person that arrived while i was opening my garage.

at least she had a sense of humor... when i said very nicely 'hi, perfect timing, how can i help you?' she looked at my cars said 'hi, im here to get my car detailed.' lol :rofl2:

yah, sounds good. that would give nice cosmetic texture and non-glare functionality too.

TypeOne 08-01-2011 11:16 AM

Ordered another front lip, new exhaust and some other random bits...

w00t!

TypeOne 08-01-2011 11:52 AM

Stillen front lip... lol (number 3 for me)

Exhaust is still on going... will inform when it is set in stone. I want to make a single but for the price it's gong to cost for me to build it, it would be the same as buying a set..

Nice... please elaborate on this Brian's backup cam. :)

It's a kit he has put together that includes the camera, all wiring, plug and play harness, and an additional bypass kit that allows you to use the camera while driving and make inputs into the nav system that stock are grayed out while driving.

I believe he is currently working on locating the proper plug so that he can make it available for 2009 owners.

LOL... what does sushi have to do with rock chips? Although it has everything to do with the gym, as it's healthy eating... just go easy on the rice :D

BTW, I know there's a DSLR thread now, but I will relate this to my Z :D I drove my Z to the photo store over lunch, and bought a Circular Polarizing Filter (Tiffen) used/like new for 15 bucks, then a 55-100 Nikkor lens (with lens hood/uv filter) for 100 bucks!!!! Talk about a steal!

Great deals. We never get stuff like that here. There are two decent camera stores that are close and their used stuff goes very fast.

kenchan: Had some errands to run, so I turned it into a kenchan around town looking for new and interesting places to check-in on foursquare.
Would that make my drive a fourchan?

crappy parkers: I parked like dooshbag while popping into Home Depot.
Seems to be the thing to do in my town.

http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1312226987

photography: The above shot was taken with my Android phone. Not bad for a phone, but I really need to break out my DSLR and start playing with that again. Still thinking about the Nikon P7000 for a more portable option.

lawn: I used to have a picture worthy lawn, but the heat wave and lack of rain has taken its toll.
I picked up a new mower today and I've already lowered it. The self-propelled drive is a little wonky around turns so I'm thinking about a Quaife.

onzedge 08-01-2011 03:10 PM

LunaZ:

1. Nice parking job
2. Not a bad shot for an Android
3. If i put one of my spare Stillen decals on my lawnmower will the neighbors be impressed? Will it mow faster?

Yeah, I thought about changing up my Evo-R for the Stillen...but didn't.

And you aren't kidding about the single exhaust. Mine wasn't cheap!

wow, that's a nice deal on the CPL and lens.

i put my stickers on my workbench... i think i needs to watch the powah it haz now. :D

so i copied the music files onto my new USB drive and now im finally back to normal. i took picts of my Z's interior but i think im going to redo it later on a cloudy day outdoors. :) i can't get the crispness yet. my f-stop and focus must be wrong... i hope im not already experiencing the limits of my DSLR.... :icon14:

Dembflyr 08-01-2011 10:16 PM

Gave her a wash then burned some gas running errands.

Still haven't gotten tired of hearing the BOV's. :D Don't think I ever will.

happytheman 08-01-2011 10:19 PM

The question remains to be asked though Lunaz: did you QD your mower after kenchaning it 'round the yard? :)

kenchan 08-01-2011 10:23 PM

haha, i remember cleaning my pop's honda mower when it was brand new.

here's a sample of kenchan's garage at night... :p

okay .. today i told a friend about me putting a dual cold air intake n my 307z.. and he said it was better to put a inner intake.. not sure what he means.. is he right?

BajaZ 08-02-2011 02:55 AM

Dzel 08-02-2011 03:24 AM

A cold air intake IMOP is just for looks do some intake tubes and K&N drop ins and you'll get as much HP. I'll be doing it after my first oil change.

My guess is your friend was referring to a short ram-air intake, which keeps the filters up in the engine bay as opposed to over the front bumper. Historically a number of the cold air intakes in the past caused the vehicles that they were installed upon to suffer from hydro lock once the intake was submerged in deep water or succumbed to a large volume of water from...say...a large puddle that the driver powered through. This does not happen (that I've heard) with the Stillen Gen 3 design because it sits so high.

Anyways, good luck with your decision. Hopefully this was helpful.

Hey guys sorry to ask this again since it was answered a few pages back but I'm looking for a little more information.

If I already have CBE and HFC the HPS with K&N won't need a tune? Since most people recommend a tune with CBE HFC and G3's...

Or no since the MAF sensor isn't changing location.

I'm sorry, but your question does not relate to photography or lawn care. You might want to try posting your question in the appropriate sub-forum. :icon17:

Most people overestimate the need for a tune. The g3s lean you out a bit, but plenty of people run them with no issues.
The biggest thing to pay attention to is how your car is running. It may be worth doing a dyno run with a/f reading ($50-80) just to check, but post-Maf tubes shouldn't make much of a difference.

haha... yes, I think in my post I mentioned I was able to park in the front spots at both locations (sushi restaurant and movie). So I take the front first spot, then inch over close to/on the line. As long as I take the front first spot, I don't impinge on someone else's spot. But yes, no dings for me. That's another big no no.

No Z for me today. Had to take the Odyssey to the body shop today. I come home last night, and my wife says to me, "Honey, I think you are going to be mad at me...." The minute I hear that, I start thinking what did she do to MY Z...... luckily, it wasn't the Z, but the Odyssey had a scraped passenger mirror from her "maneuvering" in the work parking ramp. Sigh... I should have taken a pic. So, I had to get it repainted today. My wife and her driving.... eeeeeeeeeeeek.

So guys, if your wives/gf's ever say those magic words, "I think you are going to be mad at me.". ALWAYS assume the worst....

On to better topics, I found this pic of my Z taken a few weeks ago, and forgot all about it. So looking at my Z last night and tinkering around in it plus playing with her pics, made me feel better about that Odyssey mishap... :(
