Moderate tints don't make the car harder to see out of, they just make it harder to see into, so your worries about tints affecting changing lanes and reversing are unfounded, unless you go for extreme tinting.

If you're concerned about reversing, get parking sensors or a reversing camera.

All I'd say is, if you're new to Z's, be very aware of the width of the wheel arches - It's a wide car and easy to scrape.


...oh, and go for the tints (if it's legal!!! ), but don't go too dark.

My buddy got 15's (like the OP got ) on his impreza.

At night, it was IMPOSSIBLE to see anything out of the back while looking through the rear view mirror.

Tints most certainly do affect how hard it is to see out of a car. Have you ever been in a dark tinted car brotha?

I disagree. I had 15% on my last car for 2 1/2 years and there was very little difference in visibility. The Z is the same. Perhaps the tints were different brands or types than what I have/had.

Exactly right, it makes very little difference at all. I really like it at night because it keeps the glare down. This car still needs a back up camera though.
