Plus I would hate to DD my sports car. They are meant for weekends, nights, pleasure cruising and the track. Maybe take it into work on a Friday, but that's it. The idea of me putting DD amount of miles on a car meant for pleasure makes me cringe personally. Buy a beater for the daily duties. As new as it may be, sports cars still need to go in the shop from time to time and then you're SOL until you get it back if you have only 1 car. Just my ![]()

I guess when you put it into perspective either way it's a win. You could always sell now and just sit on that cash. Wait it out a bit and go and grab new Z in the next few months. I most certainly believe the new Z will be a superb platform to continue tuning and outright enjoying. I would be just so tempted to take that 36 and toss it on a C7. It's pretty much up to you and hope I'm in your predicament soon lol.

I, along with most people here, can guarantee the new Z will not be had for anywhere near 40k - at least for the first year. Just like the corolla gr. If the supply chain is still the way it is, dealerships are going to continue to ride that wave and just go with allocations/orders. Honestly it works for them. Cars are sold before they get to the lot. Nothing has to sit around so they don't need to negotiate. Guaranteed business with maximum profit. Mark-up is icing on top. Furthermore, I swear they are installing all these dumb a$$ accessories like pin stripes, ceramic coating, door edge guards, etc. that you have no other option but to purchase with the car.
Also, I'd go as far to say that out of all the cars that have been introduced recently, the new Z probably has the most anticipation. My point is, how long can you actually wait? I'd say tack on another year on top of the new Z's actual release date (and I mean when they are hitting the docks) for a "decent" deal. |

I don’t see much demand for a new Z at $60,000. For a couple of more bucks, you’re talking Corvette money. Like I said, for $40,000 new and $36,000 down on mine, it’s a no brainer. I don’t see them selling many at $60,000. Just my opinion. It’s a wacky market.

No. My answer is slightly different from the money aspect. 370z has way lower production than the 350z. Every day on FB I see Z cars getting totaled. I think we're coming up on critical mass where 370z is just starting to get a bit harder to find.
370z is the last of the mechanical based components. The new Z has a lot more electronics. I think there will be a time where people wish they had all the analog gauges sitting in front of them. The cockpit really exemplifies driver oriented feel while being a minimalist. Styling - This is subjective... but the rear quarters of this car is iconic. Nissan basically made a mini tub from the factory. |

What I have read was Base @ 40, Performance @ 50, the proto spec at 60, with the NISMO to follow in about a year. If I had to guess, I would say the NISMO would price out around 60. MSRP on my 16 NISMO was 45k, and they were selling for 32 - 36k, after 7 years on the market. The first couple of years, I imagine you won't be able to find one without a "Market Adjustment" (what the local Ford dealer was calling the buyer's premium...), although we got the dealer to knock the 2k adjustment, and another ~3k besides, to get a new Bronco Sport for the wife, so some dealers are still willing to haggle for repeat customers. You mentioned the new Z not approaching 60k, as it would be the Corvette money...well guess what, both the Corvette and the Supra are also seeing their prices rise, as is with everything. It won't be just the new Z having a price higher than announced. I think your decision should be based on the fact that the new Z will probably cost you at least 50k.
