Doug DeMuro Reviews the 370Z Nismo...and it doesn't go too well

it is a subjective review and it is not going to change how much I like my Z.

Love My NISMO, that's why I just had it repainted.

Fixed the power problem with SC.

Interior, less is more!!! (nothing to brake) I'll have this car for another 10 years, when the elect/gizmo stuff fails on other cars, and the manufactures quits supporting, what cars survive, We Do. The Z will never have a problem that I can't fix myself.

Doug did not even know what the key slot was for! Sorry for the rant.

If you watch this guy’s other reviews you will see what an a$$hat he is. His reviews are not very professional since he mostly bases them on his personal opinion of cars’ looks and harps on about “quirks and features”. He barely drives the cars. I definitely do not look to this guy for proper car reviews. You should see the one he did on the Tesla Model 3 where he forgave the grossly misaligned door trims and interior trim just because it was a high tech smartphone on wheels. Then he gives the cars a “Doug Score”. I mean you really need to be full of yourself to name a scoring system after yourself......lol!

He found success in being an entertainer and has completely become a caricature of himself over the past year or two. Ugh, and that "Doug score" masturbation.

He reminds me of a childrens youtube entertainer anymore. HAHA OMG QUIRK TALL MAN IN SMALL HAHA BACK HAHA SEAT HAHA

This has to be the worst review on the Nismo Z I ever seen on YouTube and opinionated. The review this guy did on the Tesla was not even decent.

The guy is mean but, unfortunately, he is mostly correct. It doesn't make any sense to buy a new Nismo Z for $46K. For that money, I will get a slightly used 4C, M2, or Cayman.

Nissan may not have done much with the Z over 10 years. But my Z is evolving to my liking.

You can get a “slightly used” Nismo for a lot less than $46,000.

Let’s compare apples to apples.

Doug's reviews in general originally rubbed off to me as annoying, and semi-ignorant. Even now he's slow to catch on to stuff like auto-hold so he makes something out of it that really is no big deal. He reminds me exactly of this classmate I had in college. The "Doug Score" just seems arbitrary and sometimes inconsistent. He won't score cars based on what they are, but on an absolute scale. No real respect to performance figures from the time a car was originally conceived. It can make someone wonder if he carries some type of bias or just has short-sighted attitude towards things.

But in the end, I don't think that's actually the case. I won't discount the idea he carefully says certain..."trigger" remarks to help his videos circulate. I mean he missed the spare tire, and I believe there are other cars in the industry with the same Bose setup in the trunk. Bad publicity is still publicity. He has a successful business model. People look for his reviews not to shop cars, but for entertainment. He'll nitpick any car really. That's just his thing. Even he knows his reviews are limited in depth because he really just takes cars around the block — yet for something so simple, I don't think anyone else is matching his success without more elaborate editing/production involved. I give him a lot of credit for not making insane clickbait titles in all caps with stupid thumbnails, and keeping his sponsors to a minimum (I think he's only mentioning Turo).

He probably crafted this review to assume the position of consumer with a singular perspective of today's standards. He's not wrong. The Nismo is well behind in terms of practical value now that the likes of a Mustang GT can put out significantly higher performance figures for possibly less money. The common person probably won't be able to make sense of "purist" driving experiences, and have rooted enthusiasm in Z-history or Nismo for that matter.

I'm sure a fair share of us advocate getting a used Z over a new one. We have complained about power, the interior, and overall failure to see an update in a decade — a whole 10 years.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

That being said, I don’t give a flying f*ck about who this douche demuro is nor what he has to say.

I love my Z and that’s what is important. Period.
