Nissan 370Z Forum

How does the general public/ car community view the 370z in your opinion?

How many times have you all been told "cool Porsche, bro"? I get that a couple of times a month. I just say, "thanks!"

I've had mine since October 2009 and I've never had anyone ask me if it was a Porsche. Most either don't know what it is, or tell me they like my 350Z.

I've had little kids to old people give me the . Had pictures and video's taken. Sitting still and in motion. One of the best was a school bus full of kids putting the windows down and sticking their cell phones out taking pictures and video. The neighbor girl who was 14 at the time. Was out front of her house with a couple of her friends. When I started to back out of the garage and head towards them. They all started with their cell phones.

Having a school bus full of kids run to the window and back door and say wow and stick there cell phones out the window and take video is something that makes me smile everytime! I was always that one kid that would notice a nice car and alert the whole bus..LOL!

If we are talking feel, to me it feels a bit like a combination of an MX-5 and an E46 M3, both of which I am a big fan of.

I get it too.

Here's a picture at some race track of a Z and a Porsche. A quick look and you'll be hard pressed to tell the two apart.

I tell people that the 370Z is the equivalent to an Asian Porsche 944, if you like what they were doing with that model then the Nissan is a modern rendition of this type of sports car. I give Nissan credit for what I feel is a better exterior and interior execution and base price with less maintainence requirements. The only trade off is a beefier over engineered layout

In sports cars. It's the best bang for your buck.

Me too. I also get the “nice Porsche” comment more frequently than I would expect. I usually just roll with it. To my mind the Z is the best sports car value. I’ve owned a ‘78 280, ‘06 350 and ‘18 370.
