Time spent at destination + 7 different stops (4.0 hrs.) Seat time 14.5 hrs....definitely helped to have seat lowered & not have that 3rd pedal on the left. Z handled & ride quality was very good, over the almost 1,000 mi. Trip. Realized that maybe our roads in SC aren’t that chitty after all. Had to meet up with a friend & perform a trade/swap. I got my “Black-Friday” gift early. 25.1mpg average while rotating 27” 285,345’s...much more drag than the base 18’s w/245,275’s Slept around 6.5-7hrs. & not feeling any soreness from the trip,,, 1 more thing....These leather touring seat warmers sure feel good in the cold. |

Driving Hellbender and the Tail of the Dragon last week confirmed that it was time for new tires, so I stayed with 265/35/19 and 305/30/19, but swapped from S-04s to PSSs. The Michelins are wider than the Bridgestones; especially the rears. I haven't had the chance to really try them out, but from the little driving I've done, I love 'em.

Added some ports to my armrest cubby - USB/AUX for my pioneer headunit, USB for my ALP "parking sensors" to make firmware updates easier.
Few more pictures (including some in-progress) here: http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/1...est-cubby.html http://www.the370z.com/members/jayho...3-finished.jpg Will need to add some extensions to the back of the headunit and ALP brain before I can reinstall... Also want to add a mute button and alert LED to one of my switch blanks for my new Uniden R3 radar detector while I am at it. Hopefully can spare a couple of hours here and there to get it finished up. |

Played with a riced out B-mer around one of my favorite corners... He had roll bar, race seats plus who knows what else but either his car sucked or he didn't know how to drive. I think I made him sad because he flipped me off later when he passed me.

I replaced the weathertech floor mats that were in my car when I bought it with some OEM mats from Z1. Now It doesn't look like a work truck on the inside.

I just made a gauge panel to replace the door on my cubby. I had it wrapped in leather. I should have it installed on the cubby tomorrow.

Looks good.
I got my new 150 psi oil pressure gauge from SpeedHut today. :D Got it installed. The interior put back together, and I'm cleaning it now. |

Post up some pics of your new gauge. |

I'm considering putting some money together with bonus next spring to "enhance the ride" and the oil gauge is on my list. (also 34 row and stretch quaife diff) I hope this finds you well |

Installed an LED/Switch into one of my switch blanks to act as mute button and power/alert LED for my Uniden radar detector. I previously had the escort smartcord switchblank mod but sold it to nomodsjk when I ditched my MAX360.
The little orb is amber in person and matches some of the interior lights pretty well. Hope to get everything cabled up and put back together tomorrow night or this weekend! http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1510810225 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1510810225 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1510810246 |
Yesterday I took off her shoes and cleaned them up nicely. Today I will clean and wax her whole body. I do enjoy my special time with her....

So the factory full summer tires were at 23k and the days are starting in the upper 30s and running to the low 60s. On rain a few cold days these things were alarming, so I went back to Michelins (I've run them on my last three sedans and my pickup with good results). Gran Turismo East took care of me, been doing business with them for a while.
They said something interesting: The rear tires are factory at a -2degree camber. They said it was to help prevent spinout, but at the cost of uneven/premature wear and that there is a kit that will put in a different adjusting cam and provide a greater degree of range so the rears can run flatter (larger contact patch). The 370z is also my first car where you don't rotate tires, which I can't imagine won't lead to a shorter lifespan as well. They also said that as the springs fatigue, the degree of camber increases and that the left rear on my car was at -2.3, out of factory spec of -2.2 to -1.2. I think I'm going to put some miles on these (considering spending turkey day running the dragon's tail) and see how they wear in/if this is an issue. If it does, it may be on the list for round 2 along with the differential. |
