You're going to love the slop those bushing collars take out of the rear feel!

I screwed up my black friday order with them and sucks they don't offer their shipping rate to customers for returns like most other businesses do. My rate to return was $55 vs. their shipping rate of $18 on top of a 20% restocking fee if you don't apply the purchase price toward another item. This will definitely make me think twice about ordering anything from them again! Would have cost me $125 for return shipping and refund to my credit card if I didn't apply toward another purchase.

Was the diff. purchased as a complete drop in assembly, i.e. preassembled pumpkin?

Yeah definitely have had to make sure I’m purposeful and accurate with my orders from Z1, their shipping rates have always been something of a sore spot for me as I have ordered a replacement oem part from them in the past and ended up getting the correct part but for the wrong model year of the 370 so it didn’t quite fit right and trying to ship it back to them would have been about half the price of the part so I just ended up modifying the part to fit. As far as the diff, I just purchased the limited slip unit itself that came in a kit with all the seals, bearings and bolts that would be needed for install and had a local shop take care of the rest. As for the rear subframe bushing collars, just finished installing them yesterday and while I wasn’t able to immediately test them out cause of some foul weather, I did get some time this morning after the roads had dried off to have a little fun and they definitely do take quite a bit of slop out of the rear end and pair quite nicely with the whiteline poly diff bushings I already had in there, actually can’t wait to see how the combo of the nismo gt pro lsd, the nismo finned diff cover, the whiteline diff bushings and the Z1 rear subframe bushing collars all work together as far as the handling goes when I get back out on the track

Got my AAM resonated test pipes installed(CEL light present). Non tuned so there's that, however they are advertised as being designed to avoid a pesky dtc code. Car sounds very good, some rasp around 4k rpm but I can live with it

Went with some dedicated winter tires - Vredestein WinterTrac Pro's - as I work nights at one of our lodges here along the Colorado river - we have anything from snow/ice/freezing fog (several people have crashed over the past few years so..not going to chance it - and I take it easy!!!)...so these should get the into the spring just fine..

I'm am considering saving some $ > the PS4's moving forward - anyone here try the Falken FK 460 All Seasons? ( Tire rack is showing them for $892 for a set at the moment...) compared to the PS4's at $1270 after rebate...about $400 cheaper and I could possibly get away with running year round :driving:

Here are the Vredesteins - they are insanely quiet/comfortable...They were just over $1005 shipped, with a $150 rebate right now so - about $850:

Installed upper radiator core support cover to clean up that hideous piece between my CF upper air dam and CF coolant tank. Found on FB, Eterno Performance and they say they're on Insta. I'm in no way affiliated with them just trying to help other Z owners. :tiphat:

Leaning hard on the taillights. Was going to say I'm happy with my OEM headlights but think they might be peeling. :o

TreeSemdyZee 12-15-2023 05:56 PM

Oh man. You should have leaned on/around Black Friday.
I got headlights and taillights lights for under $1700.
I love ‘em a lot. I think they are some of the cooler lights i’ve ever seen.

Picked up the packages for my winter plans:
-New power steering fluid - Dextron VI
-New oil, Mobil 1 5w-30. Happy to say that from year to year (averaging 3500miles) the car consumes no oil!
-New oil pressure sensor, as the old one seemed to act up ocassionally
-Power steering oil cooler - I grabbed the mishimoto one, that should probably suffice

I’ve got 158,000 on mine and it doesn’t use oil either. Catch cans made a difference. I also change the PCVs relatively often.

abm89 12-16-2023 01:51 PM

I need to put catch cans back on mine.

SPL Front upper control arms

Since this seems to be where most people are posting now since we're getting long-in-the-tooth (14 years).

For those of you who have installed front upper control arms (of any brand), is it normal for the car to feel a little "squirrely" compared to stock control arms?

I also had a replacement Nismo suspension installed at the same time and the car feels pretty crazy at times. Mostly when I'm turning. Straight ahead feels fine.

Trying to ease my paranoia and figured you all could help.

Sorry. Don't have them. They pretty much set to stock numbers.
I didn't see the results.

I was picking up some parts and I saw a 24 NISMO RZ34. It looks really good, but I don't want to know how much the owner paid for it. It looks like it's been used though with plenty of brake dust on it.

I traded in my Z 3 weeks ago now. I got a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. White exterior with all black interior. I'm loving the practically, 4 doors and bed. It's nice to be riding high up and the visibility is awesome compared to the Z.

The VQ38DD is nice and smooth. The 9 speed tranny is very smooth as well.

They’ve got one at a dealer in my area for just under 70k.
This is why I’ve spent some money on my 370. Too frickin’ expensive.

That’s honestly way better than I thought.

I hear ya on the costs of these cars. I spent a ton of money in 2023 “refurbishing” my Z. I’m waiting for some craft square mirrors and it will be mostly done. All of my front motor maintenance stuff is just in a box in the garage. My oil pressure is fine so I’m not rushed to get that done.

I’m probably going to pick up a bike in the next month or so. Just finished my MSF course so I’m stoked.

TreeSemdyZee 12-28-2023 05:22 PM

Truth is. I’ve probably spent more than that on my 370 over the last 14 years.
I’m glad I didn’t keep track honestly.
I know I’ve spent around 25k on gas. 😡

ZontheRocks 12-31-2023 08:26 AM

I finally installed the Torque Solutions Urethane Transmission mount I picked up a while back.

Look at me, so accomplished.

One of these days I’ll bite the bullet and install the diff bushings that are collecting dust.

Anyways, the mount stiffens things up at the stick and the reverb is greatly increased above 4.5k. I love it because when it comes to cars, I’m forever 16.

Everyone enjoy the evening and have a Happy New Year!

Couldn't agree more with you. The new Nismo is SO BEAUTIFUL especially in that stealth gray but $70k - that opens up A LOT of different options to check out. For me - it just makes me want to either wait for used Performance one to get to a reasonable price or just keep the current Z and get a different platform altogether (looking at you Honda CTR) haha.

yup i've used never dull for years! but when i picked up the Z i don’t think the previous owners kept up with the cleaning so the never dull couldnt take out all the carbon built up. but now that it's in my hands i will keep it nice and clean :)

changed out the CSC and clutch on the Z when i got it half a year ago, so made a clock out of the stock clutch disc!

I just received my Fast Intentions exhaust. Just finished jacking up the car to get ready. I think this will be the last time I attempt anything like this again. I’m getting too old for this. :icon14:

This is my "winter spec" setup. I'm pretty much done messing with the car for a while (I just got a new bike so im focusing on that). The only thing I did since the last update was add some JSAI Aero dive planes/canards to the front bumper. The TS Lip needs to be re-cleared and I'll eventually paint the canards.

The 18 Inch tires are super comfortable and not too noisy. I need to get my alignment dialed back a bit (the camber is super aggressive for street use). All im waiting for are my Craft Square Mirrors to come in.

Did the FI exhaust clear that CF diffuser? I have considered getting one but I don't want to mess with new hangers and all that...

Yep. It should be fine, but I haven’t finished the install yet.

My previous Z had the same diffuser and no issues. I believe I had to use some washers on the hangers to adjust the fitment, but that’s it.

Just buttoned up the installation. The diff brace has plenty clearance :happydance: See pic below

And the tips came out perfect. It’s amazing how precise that exhaust is. It’s pouring rain here so no pics of the tips right now.
