Thought about getting new tires for my Z today... but ended up buying a bunch of goodies for my Jeep. :icon14:

Don't that just piss you off. :shakes head:

I know exactly how it happened. Some d-bags decided to block the ON-RAMP onto Mopac (one of the main highways in Austin) while arguing over an accident they just had.

I went on the shoulder to go around.

This time will be a lot easier on the body but a little harder on the wallet. I'll be sure to take some pictures after I pick it up before it gets dirty again!

All the trash collects just outside of the painted lines. That's an area I try my hardest to stay away from.

HKS on…coming from a Tomei, wow. So tame and refined on startup and while cruising, but on WOT, a nice deep growl. A true gentlemen’s exhaust.

abm89 08-12-2021 11:09 AM

State inspection today, so im un-taping my haltech dash that way they dont get confused. On that note, i noticed that the OEM odometer ticks faster than what's recorded over OBD-II

Nissan Shenanigans?!

abm89 08-12-2021 01:30 PM

OH WTF they actually failed my inspection because the cats said "not ready"

smh

I thought Texas didn't care about modifications :icon14:

Some counties do an OBD-II test. I never had any issues going to the dealer in Round Rock or when I did live in Austin proper, but I guess they added Williamson County to the list.

I bet if you actually smog my car it'll pass with E85 and HFCs. I'll see about getting it tested elsewhere or getting the readiness monitors turned back on.

You're preaching to the choir. I'm in Commiefornia :icon14: I know my car would pass a sniffer test on e85 and mil spec cats but as soon as you do the obd 2 test it fails because of the monitors that aren't ready

JARblue 08-12-2021 02:25 PM

I got the extended bung on my test pipes and passed the test just fine in that regard. I failed because the compressor on my horn crapped out :bowrofl:

New horn (with warranty) should be here tomorrow

Yup. Nothing in the tune is turned off.

Hotrodz 08-12-2021 03:42 PM

I don't understand what you guys are talking about. I just drive my cars and truck. They are straight piped and never had an issue passing a test here. Oh okay I don't have to take a test here. Sucks to be you guys! LMAO

zeeder 08-12-2021 04:02 PM

I just scheduled the intake install for the 23rd. I thought about trying to do it myself but I don't feel comfortable removing the bumper and, potentially, braking something...lol. :shakes head:

I received the EcuTek stuff last week but haven't emailed Seb/started the process yet since you guys talked me into changing intakes...lol. Also, it's been in the 90s here lately and I imagine it's better to tune when it's slightly cooler?!

JARblue 08-12-2021 05:13 PM

Enough is enough. Time to install the CJM Road Race Pump kit and new top hat. Today I fuel starved a right hand curve in 4th gear at 3K RPMs with light throttle and over 11 gallons in the tank :shakes head:

Your pump is probably laying on the bottom of the gas tank, because it broke off the top hat....:eek:

I think it's been that way since late 2017. I have all the parts ready to go.

Yeah, I think I'm going to give it priority over replacing those RE-11s that are still on your Nismo rims :icon17:

The family hauler had them until a few months ago. Those were some loud axx tires. Love em and hate em.

I wouldn't know. I can't hear any road noise over the exhaust ;)

The biggest problem with them is they are old. I bought them from Hotrodz a number of years ago. Maybe 3 now? And I'm pretty sure they were already several years old. I'm actually hesitant to take them out and toast the rest of the tread due to their age. Rather they not fail catastrophically on me - I've had tires delaminate on the Z before.

Was able to knock out a lot of the stereo install.
Door/tweeter/rears speakers all installed, ran thru door harnesses (that was fun) and soldered and heat wrapped and all ran to the trunk area.
Power and ground wires run… Power still needs to be hooked up to battery.
Now figuring out the layout of the amp and loc in relation to where the wires will be coming thru…. Who knew the baby seat hole harness opening would ever come in handy!

Still a lot to do but happy it was a rainy day so put it to good use.

Changed the oil, went to grocery store in Z! Epic!

Someone on Facebook is selling a brand new #102 stage 1 FI tt kit. Comes with the fuel system (pump and injectors) and 3" FI turbo catback for $12,500.00. Asking price.
