Is the market for the Zs really soft right now?

I love my automatic, coming from a Por car I think this year they are all PDK automatics, no MT from what I read..

These are two different cars, different stories behind it, it has been discontinued, and there's not a lot of them out there that are in decent shape either so of course the price will hold for a well kept S2k. Compare that to a 350Z vert and that'll tell you another story.

Right now the competition is tough for the Z. I say just enjoy the Z for what it is. It is a great car regardless of where it sits in the market place.

Those values are getting soft now also... the halo days for most sports cars are done now. The market has gotten saturated.

We have to remember here that from 08-11 everyone unloaded the sports cars to be more sensible, and now it is like the reverse happening... Everyone was trying to get their "babys" back from the crisis.

They make automatics for a reason and 50% of them are autos, there is no performance detriment from it and only benefits, in a SPORTS car.

This is not an automatic vs manual thread.

Again, clueless...

I was never "ragging" on your car because it's an auto. I was never saying anything about auto vs manual. That has all been your doing.

You're the one who got all butt-hurt when I properly answered your question as to why your car wasn't selling.

And as to this... there is no performance detriment from it and only benefits, in a SPORTS car...

I say this...

Yeah, precisely why EVERY form of auto racing (except drag racing), a manual transmission or sequential transmission is used. Which I must reiterate, a sequential transmission IS a manual transmission.

And as for your analysis...

Okay, I'm done... For now.

I sold my M3 then bought the Z and $20K+ isn't going to get you one of those on your list without potential huge repair bills down the road.

My Z (3rd Z, PW/Persimmon) has full options with 6MT and I love that color combo. There is a lot of car for the money. As for as color and transmission choice, it is a matter of personal preference. All you need is just one buyer to get the car sold.

I personal think your car is nice and i would definitely consider it if I was looking for an auto.

No one that can "afford" a 20k+ used Z is going to buy one and will get a Porsche/m3/4/Corvette instead, especially from a private party. Or a new C7 Corvette on 60 month stretch pay considering you can get one for less than 50k now.

The Z is stuck in a shitty market place at the moment, it is not cheap enough to be ragged on by high schoolers, and it is not expensive enough for those that have the money to buy it, because they will go other directions.

This has nothing to do with the transmission and or color of the car, those are personal preferences.

Edited to be nice. Property value in this neighborhood has gone down a little. LOL.
Cause kids are lazy and don't want to learn manual trans. Also I remember when I was young my insurance was high. Sports car ( Monte Carlo ) with full coverage at 18 with clean record would have been like 1,800+ every 6 months. Just going off experience here.

Yeah, the truth hurts, doesn't it?..

Look, all I did was come on here and offer my opinion as to why your car wasn't selling. Not once did I say anything negative or rude about you or your car.

You're the one that got all bent out of shape and offensive with your first and second response back to me. Possibly because you know I'm right but you don't want to admit it.

If you wanted to successfully resell an automatic transmission car with no issues, maybe you should have bought a Toyota Camry instead of a Z. You know, the kind of car people actually WANT an automatic in.

EEK, that's a lot for a 2013... This one is like 20 miles from me..

2016 BRAND NEW 7AT Sport and Tech package for 24.7K

So I might have been stretching it saying there are lots of 2016s, but there ARE lots of 2015s in that range, and if you can go without touring, this one here ^

Apparently. The designation SS make it so. Sadly the whole idea of what makes a sports car is unclear for many.

I weep for our future if this were true and for your mere analysis in response to the OPs question.

Especially with the final generation Impalas and Monte Carlos being FWD V8 automatics...
