Laughing as the guy in the diesel tries to "race" you up the hill climb onto the Interstate, goes from 35-70 in about 200 yards, and take off, opening up several car lengths, only to shut it down at the speed limit and three seconds later he comes roaring by looking like he won the Daytona 500. Happens twice a week at least. Also, I do not condone street racing, which this most definitely is not, I just like fast acceleration, I accelerate like that there every morning.

Considering the fact that they pull the slow down, let me catch up, accelerate, slow down let me catch up, accelerate, you get the drift, routine I'm pretty sure that those are their intentions...

Kind of two fold, the feeling of pulling up somewbere and a group of tiny hineys admiring your car as you park but can't see who is driving because of tint.

Flipside, the look you get from same group as you open door and a bald headed old fart takes 5 minutes to get out of car.

#1: Making as if I'm "challenge accepted" to the pick-up truck who's been egging me on, now beside me at a red light ... only to take off really, really gently as the Lumbering 4x4 With Huge Wheels races away. The icing is if I get beside that person at the next red light with a huge smile on my face; it's pure smiling eye-contact as I pull up alongside, very, very slowly (line-of-sight angles permitting).

#2: Driving like a sane human, and getting tail-gated / passed by mini-vans. Makes me smile every time.

#3: Knowing I could pull away, hard, if I wanted. LOL.

P.S. For #1, why's there never a cop around when you need one to witness such things?

Around here it's civic SI's. I feel like I can't go any where with out one trying to act like they are tuff. That an some sort of SRT Chrysler. I have had every thing from a neon to a challenger try to make me feel bad.

It's been a great tool for some of the younger guys that work for me. When they ask how I can afford a great car while being in the military, they all think it cost more than it does, I get a chance to explain money management, the rewards of waiting to get married, and the importance of using prophylactics. So far I've been able to get 3 of my guys to actually start a portfolio. I know it sounds stupid, but I've had these talks with my kids since I've had kids in the army and this is the first time I've seen success. That to me is well worth the price of admission of owning a Z.

One of the random awesome things about owning a Z is... Owning a Z!

Other than that, always being able to keep my keys in my pocket to get in and out of the car and drive it. No more hearing the keys dangling and smacking around while driving.

Never worrying about a small group of friends saying "Let's take your car", as they all now know it's only a 2-seater.

Having a very supportive following and a great source of quality aftermarket parts vendors.

Totally transforming the driving experience of the Z for only $400 by way of adding an axle back exhaust that completely masks the truck-like sound of the engine coming through the firewall.

I drove an '02 Chevy Blazer for a couple of years, which was a 5-speed and came with the huge 4.3L V6. When I first took the 370Z out for a test drive, the memory of that dang Blazer instantly popped into my mind! They sound identical! Where the Z sounds different/better stock is above 5k rpm.

No longer an issue with the axle back however.

Of course, now I'm going to google "Axle Back 370z" all afternoon instead of working.

Bad part about owning a Z. Nothing else compares. Every time I have to travel and get a rental, or times like this week and I have to drive the wife's car I'm just so bored behind the wheel.
