Nope, even then it'd have to be auto, touring with NAV to even contemplate not getting rid if it for something...more DD friendly. But I'm old. I'll be 40 in a few years.

my buddy traded his 2009 6mt 370 sport for a 2011 328i hardtop vert. Interior is awesome.. its much slower tho..I think it will be even after cobb tuning. Really a superior cruiser to the 370, but 370 is a sports car.. 328i is either a midsize sedan or cute comfy coupe.

All in saying is a base '13 is raw. No tech. No lux. Not much comfort. Not even sports package on base. You get a solid, quick, good handling coupe. I never saw third gear in my traffic. Like others have said, what do you want expect from a car?

10 months in it wasnt worth it to ME. I traded my '13 6SP base/sport for an 8 speed auto, 2014 3.8 Gen Coupe GT. Not as sharp as the 370 as a sports car but MUCH more friendly as a DD (for me), for quite a bit less money. Leather, NAV, sunroof, hands free evrything, hell I can start my car with my phone, etc. Plus its got 350hp, so its still got plenty of giddyup.

328i drives better than a Z? my brother has a 335i and I pick the Z over it every time.

if you were bored with the z the 328 and most others will be worse. I think part of your boredom was it being an automatic. like another said, the z is engaging. I noticed after test driving a 350z I wanted a car that's easy to drive hard and hard to drive easy if that makes sense. but if you are stuck in bumper to bumper California traffic you'll never be engaged, just bored no matter what you drive. test drive a few other cars and good luck.

I think you need to decide what you are looking to get out of the car you are purchasing. These 2 cars are really worlds apart and I'm a little surprised at the comparison. I considered a BMW before buying the Z but it was a 335i - which in that case at least you can say they are both performance cars so it makes some sense to cross-shop them.

If you get the Z, you won't find yourself committing spontaneous and involuntary acts of douchebaggery that seems endemic with BMW owners.

I have driven the 328i a few times performance wise it's not even close to a 335i much less a Z.

You are comparing a 4DR car to a 2DR. Why not the 335i?

370z: Reliable. Fun to drive, costs less and only goes to the Nissan dealer for regular oil change. Auto insurance does cost a lot more than the 335i though.

335i: Better interior, audio system, more features and does much better in snow.
Under warranty (thank god) and went to the BMW dealership for too many problems so far.

It all boils down to what you want dude. I was in the same situation as you and I'm happy I picked the Z. My brother ended up getting the 335i
so I get to drive it and vice-versa We both agreed on everything above btw.

If you can only have one car, but you need to drive it year round, without question choose the Bimmer (but lease it). If you can keep a winter-beater on hand, without question buy the Z.

My previous car was a 328i. It was great fun, though not nearly as sharp as the Z cornering, shifting, or steering, but it was close. The audio system in my Z is superior to HK in my 328, but that might not be the case if you bought a base model Z. I say lease the 328, because my 328 was a legit money pit once it hit 70k. With a lease you let BMW take the hit on repairs for 3 years then dump the thing for a new model.

Couple of things.

I drive automatic, so shifting doesn't matter to me

what is HK sound? is that just hte bimmer sound system?

I will be buying either a base z or one with sports package nothing more
