I would call the Texas DMV (888-368-4689). Give them your VIN and purchase date, they should be able to give you the correct answer. No way it should take that

I would call the Texas DMV (888-368-4689). Give them your VIN and purchase date, they should be able to give you the correct answer. No way it should take that long to get your first set of "general plates". (All my vehicles have always been registered in Tejas. In thirty-plus years, it has never taken longer than four weeks to get my tags.)
