I was at a Nissan dealership recently and I didnt say i wanted financing through the dealership, and they still wanted my social security number, and ran a credit check, which may have knocked points off my score, now my credit report says "auto loan inquiry" and its on my report until 2011 now.

My intention was to get a baseline price, ie: 5% off sticker price, then get a loan through a local bank, to pay the dealership outright, with the bank owning the car. Then I would sell my existing car on ebay or whatever.

Whatever the case is..............the dealership couldnt do better then 72months, 6.25%, and they said this was the "bank rate", however when i looked on the banks website, the specified rate at the bank that they said the mirror the rates after, was 5.70 % @ 60months.

All in all, i really want to find a baseline red or blue "Automatic" 370z w/ Sport Package.......I could settle for manual(convince me), with rear wing, and the ninja spokes, not the dull looking base rims....

is it possible to get this for 28 or 29k?

any help/ideas?

They did a inquiry you should have known this. Also look for penfed credit union and read that info. Do a little research theres a bunch of posts about it. They will go as low as 3.99 for 60 months. As far as 28k-29K...Good luck with that....

Default Try this

Go to a credit union. Most are having promotions for members with good credit ratings and if you keep a min in the account of say 5000. Get pre approved and have them give you their prefered dealership list. talk to the fleet manager that they deal with. Tell him your paying in cash and all you need is to a good price. Thats what I did and I got mine for abouyt 1200 over dealer invoice and several thousand dollars under sticker at 3.45% for 66 months.

Base with sport, manual or auto, is going to run you invoice of about 31,000 no matter what, probably will not see much below that right now. Note, the 31,000 is with no other options and is a rough estimate.

Multiple loan inquiries in a 30 day window are lumped together and shouldn't adversely affect your rating.

You look at least 31K for Base w/Sport, 31.5-32K for same w/AT.

Get external financing through a credit union. The dealer has a deal with the banks for kick back so the rates are higher.

I can't remember where I read it, but the last thing you give then is your SS number!

Never go beyond 60 months,never!
