Just wanted to point out that it's completely legal to split lanes here in California when on a motorcycle, and depending on how crazy traffic is, would allow you to just ride through it. Just remember to be careful and ALWAYS have an out for every action you make. Drivers here tend not to see bikes on the road. Sure it might be the other idiot's fault, but the motorcyclist is still going to end up on the worse end of the accident.

It's illegal to split lanes when not in CA? I was not aware. If the lane is wide enough and traffic is stopped (no cops around), not much to stop one from heading to the front of the line on a bike....
