I wish I had one, but only have assigned subterranean parking at my complex. So, anyone who lives here can see where I park.

That is your take on it. I didn't say that I purposly go slow just to mess with others, and I do not go out of my way to inconvenience others for my gain. But, if I deem the situation needing me to slow down, I will. Steep entrances, speed bumps/tables, rough road, ect, then I will slow down and don't mind if others are honking/flipping the bird. And, my car is stock height so that is not a factor.

You may want to re-think this comment. "I'll take even more time". Instead of taking the high road, you choose to be as bad as the person behind you.

oh damn that sucks. no matter where i live, it has to have a garage. i live in florida so aside from trying to keep from my car baking in the sun, i tend to be protective of my belongings and i just need that peace of mind of being parked in a garage.

I drive a work truck that's limited to 70MPH. I am constantly watching my mirrors to make sure that I don't slow others down.

With all the miles I drive, there are inevitably times when I am "that guy", but I try to make those instances as rare as I can.

People make mistakes on the road all the time. There's no way around that, we are all human. The issue here is the "they can wait" mindset.

Whether school buses are lit up like a Christmas tree or not, it's still "holding people up".

Your comparison has nothing to do with the original point.

That's why I answered directly:

"Anything that stops in the path of traffic is bad. (including school buses)"

Okay, so then let I guess most of us make the mistake of having the "they can wait" mindset because we don't want to damage our cars.....

Is the person in the wheelchair going slow because they CHOSE to make their mode of transportation require special treatment relative to everyone else?

None of us want to damage our cars. But some of us modify our cars to have "special needs" and don't give a $hit when it inconveniences others.

You're no better than the bimmer owners or the 4x4 pickup owners who seem to get so much flak on these forums for the same ****. If you are consciously slowing down traffic without due regard to others on the road then you're just being a self entitled SOB and I'm ashamed to share the community as you lot.

Now I care about my car and I'll do what I can to avoid damaging it, but I also do so in a way where I'm not inconveniencing others. I've also been on the other end of someone slowing to 5mph to go through a dip when coming off the highway. Not only do people miss the turn signal because of these dicks (even if you're not in a hurry, everyone has felt the frustration of missing one due to the incompetence of another driver), they're also causing an unsafe scenario by purposely going slower than the speed of normal traffic. So no, the behavior is not justified just because your car is precious to you. A little empathy for your fellow driver goes a long way. These are not your private road ways.
I have to agree with this to a large extent. If your car is too low to be practical as a DD and that's how you're using it, then maybe you're being a little disrespectful to the other drivers around you. My car is stock height with no chance off going lower while it's my DD. Too painful and inconvenient.

That being said, even at stock height I encounter plenty of driveways that require a 45 degree approach at near idle speed just to avoid scraping horribly. But I can't say I've ever had someone honk at me for it. OP is in NY, and from everything I've experienced getting honked at is a regular occurrence for driving there

Yes a couple of my friends with their families have moved there, guess they can't get away from the warm weather and ocean but want a lower cost of living.

My take on this topic is, if a lowered/modded car properly signals well in advance of a turn, then takes a few extra seconds to go up or down a driveway, I'm perfectly fine with that. By the way, my car is stock height. What irritates me is when a car, any car hits their brake first, then uses the turn signal after. I suppose if the OP did the latter then I'd be irritated no matter what, but the irritation level will probably rise, if he then took longer than normal to enter that driveway.

Also I'm not okay with slammed cars that are bouncing around so much that their drivers only drive 35 or 40 for their comfort, when the limit is 50 or 55 on our highways. As this person now becomes a nuisance and traffic/accident creator.

This is one of the things I hate about the FI exhaust, cans are way to low and they look ridiculous from behind the car, like it was thrown together with spare parts from other cars
