2. Clutch test: One way to do it is to run at about 30 mph and then putting the gear into 5th/6th and looking for linear revs as the car accelerates. If the revs go up but the car doesn't accelerate to match the revs, clutch is on the way out and will fail soon.
3. Typically a shop will charge 5-6hrs of labor. Labor rate for mechanics vary a lot from region to shop ~$80/hr. Better places will charge more but should take a little less time.

1. Agree. There are a few forum members here that got ~120K miles on the stock clutch. Depends on how you operate the clutch.
2. 5th gear is good at 30 mph. Do 6th at 35 or 40 mph. Minimum recommended speed for 6th gear is 33 mph.
3. I've seen anywhere from $500-$1000 for clutch labor on this car. But make sure the shop is competent first. Then make sure they aren't ripping you off. $80-100/hr is pretty standard depending on the shop location.
4. Agree. Don't bother with the OEM CSC. ZSpeed CSC or Z1 CSC Elimination Kit are the top choices. Replace CMC also. Do research on the clutch - all the info you need can already be found on this forum. Some clutches (not all) will work with stock flywheel, which is heavier to keep the noise down. Personally, I would go lightweight flywheel for faster revs, but typically there is more chatter/noise associated with them.
