It happens everywhere and not just to Z's. All sport or fast rides get the "teenager to late 20 something (got something to prove) race-egger, gas punching, Folger Can exhaust rasping" boneheads trying to see if they can out run something known to be fast.

Here is a good one for the post:
Chery and I had a GTR until recently. (there is a story in itself......) Every D*$! time we took it out - Camaro's / Stang's / 4 Banger's with "bee stinger's" / Challenger's / Charger's / and Vette's wanted to run it. It's when we got stopped a few times and accused of racing that we knew - we had to give that dream up.

We are in our 40's and getting popped for street racing because of the numbnuts around us!!!???? (It comes with the territory of owning sports cars.)

Since we got the Z - we still see it - but different cars make the challenge's now.

My personal favorite's are the Acura's and Civic's that have 10" cans on them, but look like 200,000 mile cars and are at 6,000 rpm and just crawling away from stop light's. WTF!?!?!? is he/she trying to do???? LMFAO!!!!

As for our former GTR - It's one of these Civic's with 200,000 miles that took care of that disposal. He looses control, bashes the center barrier, and right back into my left side sending me to the right barrier. $100,000 gone in an instant. And his money bag parent's tried to get lawyers to pin it on us!!!! The witnesses in court stated he came from nowhere and started being stupid and only driving 6 mo's being wreckless.....

Needless to say - if my wife and I are fortunate to have had a GTR and other mid range cars at the time in our "stable".......

Yeah, in court - lil "money bags junior" and affluenza mommy & daddy were BIOT@#$!!!!

He'll be 21 before he drives again!!!

Talking

I get both the good and bad stuff.

The good. I've had people pull up next to me and give me the People taking pictures and video of me going down the highway. Getting gas, people come up and start talking about the Nismo or talk about the older Z that they once owned. Kids in school buses sticking their heads out the windows. Just had a little kid on a bicycle just about run into me. He was staring so hard at the car. He got target fixation. I had to jump a red light to keep him from hitting me.

The bad. Fly-bys. Cruising down the road, and have some ricer blow by me at double the speed limit. Or have them come up next to me and rev the crap out of their motor. Bouncing it off the rev limiter. Keep waiting for one to blow. Tail gaters. Morons hanging on the rear bumper for miles. Or have the idiot run up then back off, then repeat it. At a stop light. Get ricky-ricer who wants to do the GP red light race. Sits there and has the gas pedal mashed to the floor. Waiting for the light to change. Giving you the want to race look. I give him the yes look back. Rev the engine a little. The light turns green, and I sit there laughing.

That right there is key. The effect is even better when there's a cop around. Ricer ricky is too busy focusing on the light to notice.

Default Lots of Comments

I have had my 2016 Nismo for about 6 weeks now. And I get "OMG" comments/looks multiple times a day. While on a recent trip to my home state of Arkansas, I was getting gas, and this very old lady (in her 80s) leaned over from the opposite gas pump and gave me a thumbs up and said "SHARP!". And while at a fast food restaurant, this redneck comes in and asks if that was my Z, and asked if it really said 180 on the speedometer. I actually didn't even know, and had to go check myself.

Even though I started this thread with negative reactions, there are also plenty of positive ones too. I do get a lot of love for my Z from kids. I'd drive through a neighborhood and kids playing ball or just outside would stare as I drive by, and/or yelling "WOW!" or "Nice car!" A few days ago, one kid sprinted after me yelling "STOP! STOP!!! I LOVE YOUR CAR!" as I passed him and a few of his buddies

Oh I didn't give up the GTR idea yet. It was totaled. (The 1st GTR). The first mid equipped model we bought was dumb rich kid. Still waiting on their appeal to fail by year end.
The second one (replacement to unit 1) - (recently) is the one I mentioned in my join post. Dealer Tech wrecked it when I had it in for a hot smell issue this summer. for that incident - They paid it and gave the additional funds for this Z!!!
The Z is my "fill in the gap" car while I decide on either doing a "final" GTR attempt again, or possibly a change of pace to audi a6 or better or maybe R8.

But to the OP point - today I had 3 positives with the car. It's like a bunch have said already - mixed admiration issues.

Todays lookers were very surprised to hear it was a 2014 and still in "New Car Shape" on the interior/exterior. But the second admirer in particular pointed something out on mine I never really noticed. My wheels on both sides match direction. I soon found that this IS how they are on all Z's with the wheels.

Then there was the 3rd admirer. A female driver in traffic rolls down window and honks and say's " I Like your car!!" and winks. To a middle aged dude - SWEET!!!! (hope wife don't get mad......)
