Personally, I'd ask my parents to sign me up for an advanced drivers course if they bought me a car like this. They'd probably take it as a sign that you'd rather learn how to drive properly (even at their cost) and it'd reflect well on your insurance...

Thats why I suggested it, because I doubt the kids even thought of it.

But, knowing now what you did then, if you had some parents who were loaded enough to get you a 370Z as your first car, dont you think they'd be willing to consider flipping another $1000 or something for a quality advanced drivers class? Think of the long term effects down the road not only for their insurance, but the safety of their kid and the lesser potential of wrecking the Z.
