Default Yahoo... I got another Z

Hello everybody.. I haven't posted before in this forum but I'm excited to say I'm the proud owner of a 2016 Black Cherry 370Z Base model with real cool FOOSE Custom Chrome Wheels. I actually found it used here in Las Vegas with 6800 miles on it. This is my 4th Z I have owned my last one being a 350. After 110,000 I traded that for a 2014 Scion FRS. What was I thinking? I'm so glad to get rid of that tin can & back in a Z. Well it wasn't that bad but just NO power. I have to drive an automatic these days due to a bad left foot & really could use paddle shifting in the new Z. I have read that the 2015 automatic base does have the needed harnessing connectors taped inside the steering wheel cover for the upshift & downshift paddle. All parts are available at Nissan for the conversion. If the harnessing connectors are still provided inside the 2016's under the steering wheel cover, I will purchase the parts to add the paddles down the road. It costs less that $400 as I remember reading. Does anybody know if the 2016's still include this wiring connectors in the Base Model? I could always take the cover Off & take a look but would appreciate it if anybody already has. Anyways for now, I'm just going to drive the car & leave it stock. Future upgrades will include a rear end upgrade for Limited Slip and the exhaust needs some better sound as well. My 350Z always sounded so sweet even with the stock exhaust but this one is just to tame for my taste. For now though, I'll go for the K&N filter upgrade for a couple of extra ponies & maybe a slightly better sound. Won't know that until I try it though. As I read thru this forum, I'm sure I learn some new tricks as well. Glad to be in the Club. Take care & Be safe everybody!!!

Thanks everybody... I'll just post the only picture I have so far. Monday I am getting the car detailed with a friend & myself. When done, I'll post more pictures. I really don't have a great camera though but I will do my best.

Congrats on the new Z. The 2016 models have the needed harnesses. I just did this conversion. I bought the paddle shifters used off eBay. I paid 250 for the pair. 100 for the clam shell cover and the 2 tabs. I got these items new from Courtesyparts.com

I really got very lucky finding a used Z with a color of choice for a really fair price. A slight drawback buying used is the Z had an after market pioneer CD radio instead of the factory unit. This prevented the steering wheel audio controls from working. And... This was something I missed & the dealership did not disclose it either. Oh well, Tuesday, I'm doing a complete upgrade that will allow the higher end pioneer CD/HD Radio that I just bought to work with the factory steering wheel controls. It's also Bluetooth so my phone will be usable soon thru the unit as I had intended.

I looked at a new Magma Red 2016 while I was looking around & would have bought it but that car dealer wouldn't budge on the price. It is a very cool color as well. Good choice!!!

Thanks... I really love those wheels on yours!!!! I'm not a fan of the 2016 wheels. The stock Black wheels on the Base model are not for me but that's just personal preference & very old school. I think I got lucky with Foose wheels but ide trade any day for that style.

Is that a custom nose on the 40th? Your car looks really CLEEEEEEEEEEEENNNN. What color is that? Any MODS? And......
Very cool.... Another member so close by. Got any performance tips to share?

I'm currently having my LF spindle replaced at my %#@$# cost. I have recently found out my Z was in a collision and I was lied to by the Dealer during the purchase. The displayed Used Window sticker said "Clean Car Fax". Well it is not. Car Fax report does only indicate a minor collision causing NO warranty impact but even that is not true according to Nissan (not the one I bought it at). My Z actually runs great but has a very occasional clicking sound coming from the left front end or wheel. Inspection from a master tech discovered missing cotter pins and loose hardware on the left wheel assy. but even after correction, the clicking sound happens while turning left to right on the rack with & without load. Worse with a load. Tech has removed pads & caliper to no avail. There is scuffing on spindle assy. & it looks like a wheel was dragging on it. They believe it has a tiny micro crack from the obvious impact but can not guarantee the replacement part will take care of the issue. They spent a lot of time diagnosing using hearing aided equipment & stated the noise is loudest near the top of the spindle assy. Bottom line is it is a damaged part not a failed part so it would not be covered. even though I bought the car with full factory warranty, not "As Is" so this kind of sucks. I am going to bite the bullet Monday and pay them $800 for the repairs & pray it fixes the issue. In all reality, the car tracks great and has no binding in the steering gear so it feels perfect while driving with steering wheel centered just fine.

Any suggestions of how to recover my cash would be appreciated. Got any connections here in Vegas? or Do you know where I might post this for assistance tips? Thanks in advance...... Mike

PS: Inspection underneath shows no bent or crushed up metal. All areas look very clean with no leaks anywhere so repairing dealership says the car should be just fine when fixed. That sounded good at the time. I probably got very lucky & things could have been much worse. Who would suspect buying a car with only 6K miles would have issues like this. I guess the price I got them down to was just a bit too good to be true after all. Still LOVE the car!!! & it will be fixed/owned for a long time

Just wanted to say the damaged Spindle got replaced today. Wow... The weird clicking sound is Gone!!! My Z is healed & man am I a happy camper now. I was assured no more non-warranty issues should crop up since no further damage can be detected anywhere. Nissan has valid warranty information in their Data Base & the Car-Fax information on file only reports a minor collision impact to the front of the car area without any warranty impact.
I did see the carved metal missing on the spindle where the rim was obviously dragging so that part truly could NOT have been sent in to the Factory for part replacement under warranty. Boy this cost me $885 & I'm going to call Nissan Customer assistance & request good will reimbursement since one of their Dealers sold it to me that way & it was actually a safety issue. I really hope they help me out but either way, My car is Good now!!! My first mod will be adding Paddle Shifters. Can't wait for that!!!
