I won't be available as i will be deploying for the next 9 months this is a bitter sweet moment. Bitter because im leaving my love behind and won't get to drive her, but sweet because when i come back she will be getting treated with a huge present.

Know the feeling. Stay safe on your deployment!

Sorry I missed you guys this past weekend, hope to catch up with you guys more when it warms up!

Running4Mayor 01-20-2015 11:30 AM

Whatever I ate at Shorty's made me sick... I was down and out all Sunday. I had plans on going back there too.

But on the upside It was good hanging out with yall and meeting some new faces. Hopefully we can keep it up!

Tigger 01-20-2015 03:19 PM

For real? That sucks. Must have been the chicken. :/ Shannon and I went to the wine fest and we're doing just fine the rest of the day. No issues. It happens sometimes. Sucks. Definitely don't think I could turn down another visit for an omelette! So damn tasty.

the Z.

I bought new spark plugs to see if that fixes the misfire. I heard it could also be caused by an exhaust leak so I'm going to take a apart my whole exhaust and do new gaskets. I also need to figure out what's up with my cats, I think I burnt them up honestly. I guess they aren't rated for the track use I've put them through.....

I might need a hand if any of you guys are available. I just need a free weekend first.

Seriously? An exhaust leak should not cause a misfire. That's a whole different matter. You are going to replace $100+ worth of gaskets to do that? Don't bother. I can't even begin to speculate what would cause a multiple cylinder misfire but it isn't your exhaust. If you burned up your cats, yeah, replace them. But the misfiring is up top somewhere. Electrical/ECU/timing... I'd groom it completely first and then see what gives. I would look on the intake side first.

I agree. What he is describing I had a couple of times in my last Z which was also a 2009. I'd hit the gas (dd not track), and it would spudder. Reminded me of and old car like there wasn't enough gas going to the carburetor or water in the gas. It was like the VDC was kicking in, but affecting the engine. Hopefully that makes sense. Maybe we could go to the hobby shop on the base and do an inspection. (I need to change my oil anyway)

This is where we make our cruise arrangements. Nothing planned right now, but last Saturday, I had the best time of my life, so stay tuned!

It's a 2011, Alpine White, Fox Red interior, 6MT, Competition package, Electronic Dampening Control, and a bunch of other stuff.

Thing is an absolute nut. Pulls all the way up to it's 8,300 RPM redline.

Tigger 01-25-2015 11:11 AM

Very nice! Mileage is **** though. I'd buy one if it weren't for that. Love the M3. Looked at the M4 recently. Holy crap!

Tigger 01-25-2015 11:16 AM

And why the hell is that thing still $46k+?! lol

What are you talking about?... I've been averaging 14.8 MPG in city driving! :roflpuke2:

Well, it was listed at $48k, talked it down. That's about what a clean 2010+ M3 sedan goes for nowadays. But the reason why it's higher than normal is due to it's color combo, nearly fully optioned, and it has a third pedal. This car is extremely rare in this configuration. Plus, this car came with an extended third party warranty (good till 2019).

Oh good. The warranty is everything. I'd never own a BMW past the 4 year 50,000 free scheduled maintenance period otherwise.

I'm Ngo... My car is stock other than a recent tint job and license plate LEDs. It's a 2009 touring sport with navi. I traded my 2009 RX8 and I am very happy with my decision. I am researching for an exhaust system/high-flow cats and it is looking like a Stillen or Berk. Also, is there a recommended tuner in our area? I will probably go FI next year.

bkngo 01-25-2015 10:13 PM

Also, I will probably paint my headlight's housings satin black. I have not decided on either LED stripe or angel eyes yet. I thought about both but it might be too much IMO. There are several great DIY that I've read so far... Anyone attempted it yet? I have done several on my past vehicles. But it might have to wait for a few more weeks... Six more credits until I graduate :) I have a capstone project due in a few months so that is taking up most of my time.

CIN, R/T Tuning, AAM for tuning.

180 for headlights unless you actually intend to do them yourself.

bkngo 01-25-2015 10:52 PM

Thanks Tigger... what shops around this area are reputable with tuning our cars? I googled it but I'm not getting much positive feedback other than regular mechanic shops around here.

I do plan on doing the headlights myself. I've crafted a few in the past. The process is similar... uninstall, bake, install LEDs, test, spray, bake, reinstall, wire...

takjak2 01-26-2015 02:41 PM

Moore Automotive for tuning

bkngo 01-26-2015 07:40 PM

Thanks takjak2! I'll check them out... how much do they charge per hour?

I'm not sure man, I got a multiple cylinder misfire code, a catalyst inefficiency code and a really high idle. It also recently became very loud and I'm not sure why. I'm going to replace the spark plugs then pull the exhaust to examine it. I might have to get rid of my HFC's and do test pipes again. Feel like helping me out?
