I’m an Apple guy too.

Tablets with Windows 8.1 can run UpRev.

Plan on getting a Dell Venue 11 Pro for data logging and tuning.
It has a full size USB port so no silly adaptors.

There are other tablet options out there.
You could pick up a refurbished one for a couple hundred.

Tigger 04-11-2015 12:49 PM

Linux has been around forever. Don't know why they don't have compatible software yet. Lots of Mac users out there. I hate the idea of having to buy a damn computer on top of the tuning software just to make it work.

IKR! :shakes head:

I was planning on running UpRev via my windows 7 virtual machine on my MacBook but a windows tablet would be handier than my 17" MacBook Pro. Especially considering you can get one for a few hundred.

Also I have another use for a windows tablet. I want a tablet I can watch a movie or tv show on it with having to spend time converting and syncing the file like I have to do with my iPad. I love my iPad Mini but when you start sharing media on a ship (my Navy brethren know what I’m talking about ;) ) it is a PITA.

Yeah man. Been there with that **** before. Sucks. I actually had two windows based laptops while I was in the navy. Both broke inside of a year. Bought my MacBook Pro in 2011 and it still works just fine. I'll take the PITA approach and having reliability over any windows based pile of ****. Not trying to make this a Mac vs PC debate. Just saying that, well, Mac is definitely better. Lol! ;)

Whaaaa? who? No one cleared this little event with me! :rofl2:

I see it's pretty nice weather there today. Wish I wasn't stuck in NM. :ugh2:

Running4Mayor 04-11-2015 03:39 PM

I agree with everyone. I bought my MacBook Pro for deployment back in 2011 and haven't had one problem. I'll check the tablets out tomorrow. It'll be just enough to run the program smoothly.

Kai, it's tomorrow... I'm heading over to Ngo house around 1 with a case of Blue Moons. You coming?

Voice59 04-11-2015 03:59 PM

Yeah

bkngo 04-11-2015 07:37 PM

Cool... Tim just text Kai my address and number... See ya tomorrow!

bkngo 04-11-2015 10:22 PM

I wasn't able to get my dyno yesterday... Maybe next week...

I think my wife gave me the go ahead to purchase the Zele body kit... we were talking about it over dinner... she likes the Zele better than the Amuse or Stillen body kits. She said I can get it if she can trade her 2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0T premium for a 2016 Genesis Coupe V6 twin turbo or V8... and I said sure...

So, that's a yes right? lol...

Voice59 04-12-2015 01:39 AM

You're definitely losing out on that deal...

How so? He's still got a 370! :)

bkngo 04-12-2015 09:19 AM

I'm trying to convince her to get a manual... We have driving lessons later today. She's doing well shifting in the neighborhood but she is still too nervous to drive on the road with traffic. She drove from Wal-Mart to our house and only stalled once.

Running4Mayor 04-12-2015 09:23 AM

Wives always get the good stuff lol

bkngo 04-12-2015 10:17 AM

Voice59 04-12-2015 10:26 AM

Good luck

bkngo 04-12-2015 10:35 AM

thanks Kai... Are you coming over this afternoon? Did Tim text you my address and number? If not I'll pm you my info.

Voice59 04-12-2015 10:37 AM

Yeah, I'll be there

bkngo 04-12-2015 10:41 AM

Running4Mayor 04-12-2015 06:04 PM

Like always it was good to see everyone. Ngo, Kai and Adrian! Oh and thanks Ngo for the smooth intake install. Sorry I couldn't make it to the other activities. My car sound entirely different now over 3.5k RPM.

bkngo 04-12-2015 07:27 PM

Good times!

Voice59 04-12-2015 10:28 PM

Just a shout out and a feeler to anybody in the area....or that reads this thread. I'm pretty sure I will have a MXP true dual exhaust for sale here in the near future. If you're interested, let me know. It'll be 900 picked up 1000 shipped.

I'm ******* stoked to see it. I think you'll be the only one in the area with that kit. Very cool. Kai tried to talk me into many times. My heart was elsewhere. At least now I get to see it!

Oh!!! You gonna get the quad-tip exhaust or get an FI exhaust modified to fit with quad tips? That would be sweet. Even sweeter would be the Zele exhaust. mmmmmmmm..... Or an Akrapovic modified too. Oh yeah. Everyone loves FI but few know about Akra. Check em out if you haven't yet. Sexy ****. Almost bought a used one from a guy in SC. Don't know why I didn't. Super nice ****.

Darketch 04-14-2015 06:19 AM

Just saw a red 2014 NISMO at Damneck & Holland, and saw a black NISMO at Greenbrier & Kempsville last week. Need these folks to start hanging out!

Those dudes need to catch up...we're too fast out here!

Onelownismo 04-14-2015 10:57 AM

So the dragon was a blast, wish you guys could have joined.

I'm actually free for once this weekend if anyone wants to meet up! I need to change my brakes and detail the car still though.

Voice59 04-14-2015 04:16 PM

Anybody know how to get a somewhat accurate shipping estimate? I've tried doing it online but it seems cheaper than I think it should be.

Tigger 04-14-2015 04:34 PM

Go to fedex and get it weighed and measured. About the only truly accurate way to do it. What are they quoting you? What are the dimensions and what's the weight?

Voice59 04-14-2015 05:18 PM

I went to USPS online...and they said it was 12 or so dollars per package. It's my sport wheels. Each in a box that a wheel would come in. So about 20-25 pounds I'd say and 20x24x24?

bkngo 04-14-2015 06:12 PM

Adrian, it is Shaun. ET1 now...

I think I will have my FI exhaust modified to fit quad tips. However, I did contact Tony to see if he would build me the carbon muffler with quad tips. We will see... :)
