reminder to you southern VA folks - good roads this Saturday on Tax Rebellion Cruise...

Onelownismo 03-07-2013 11:11 AM

It's been awhile since I started this thread, just wanted to bump it and see if there were any new people around. It's lonely down here haha

takjak2 03-07-2013 01:41 PM

My family is there, so I come down from NOVA for Autox about once a month.

Onelownismo 03-07-2013 02:47 PM

to pungo? I've been auto-xing at RIR and VMP

cossie1600 03-07-2013 03:51 PM

I think they are leaving Pungo. I did a one event in 11 and 12. The people were nice (like most in the area), but I found the course to be on the un-engaging side. I understand they were limited by the lot, but I still think they could have designed a more engaging course. From what I heard, they are moving to another lot this year.

Onelownismo 03-08-2013 03:37 PM

I really hope so, that was the one thing preventing me from racing with them

They like to "maximize" run time by running two laps or having to use the same part twice in a run. Here is the problem. They put the crossover near the end of the course, which means you really don't get to send two cars. You really sit around and do nothing for half a day. As much as I like the people and the location, I couldn't stand what they were doing at Pungo in the two times I was there.

This is the second time I ran there. First course was so-so, this one was flat out horrible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAgpAUxTCF4

Hey bro. I just recently became a member here after picking up my Z last weekend. I had the same trouble on the Acura forums trying to get people to be social down here in the beach. You would think everyone would want to do things like this but its exactly the opposite. People are so anti-social here. Explains why I've only just begun to make some friends down here after 5 years!!!

Anywho... I live in the Virginia Beach area and always looking to do something, if not just getting coffee and staring at my own car.

Also, this Saturday, bright and early, I'm meeting up with a couple of Acurazine guys (which was my other home) and heading out to Richmond for C&C. Meeting up in Hampton at 6:30am and we are all caravanning together. If you'd like to join you are more than welcome. The more the better. And better not to be the only Z. :) Let me know and I'll send you the address.

Just picked up my 370z this weekend, dont live in Va Beach but always looking for a good excuse to make the trip. Va Beach was the first place I cruized to in the Z.

Ryguy 05-02-2013 10:16 AM

Heres a good excuse for a trip, Z Oddessy is this saturday, its in hampton. Its a car show put on by the Tidewater Z car club.

takjak2 05-02-2013 01:26 PM

I was there last year. Nice turnout of older Zs and a bunch of good stuff raffled off.

swoopdeville 05-03-2013 07:38 AM

I plan on attending.

Hey! Sumospeed this Saturday in VB. You should make the trip down. Meeting up with a couple other guys and strolling over together. Probably around 9:15-9:30am - ish. $5 to get in.

Anyone else interested? I'm also hosting a private meet also after the show. Times are still kind of up in the air depending on what the other two guys prefer. I already posted a 6:30pm meet up time but trying to move it to right after after the Sumospeed event so we can hit the beach, the boardwalk, chill, do some pictures, have a quick afternoon cruise and then dinner.

But I guess we'll see. Anyone here is invited to join. I'll be out and about all damn day so hit me up!

Great day at Springfest!!!

Tigger 05-12-2013 02:40 PM

I am scheduling another meet for mid-July. Details will be posted in a few weeks. Turnout last night was excellent and it would be great to get some people out from this forum as well. So start looking at your calenders and work schedules!

Sorry for digging up an old thread.

Do you know the guy who drives this Z? I see him in traffic, we wave, but as I said, we're in traffic.

Tigger's Zfest pic...

Voice59 08-09-2013 10:24 PM

Oh ok. I don't know who that is. Almost looks like mine a bit. I did see an older guy around Norfolk base a few months back in a brand new red nismo. And a bit before that around base a silver Nismo.

Tigger 08-09-2013 11:55 PM

Yeah. Not sure who that was. Just a random Z to take pictures of.

Voice59 08-10-2013 07:30 PM

What color is yours Tigger? I went down to Haygood and hung out for a bit. I left pretty early. I saw a pretty sweet looking white roadster with white wheels in the area. And I think I saw a monterey blue Z around there as well.

Mine is GM. I've seen the MB one quite a few times. Think he's there every weekend. I would have been easier to spot with the Stillen fascia on but since I went back to stock I'm afraid I'm just another non-sport Z. :shakes head:

After I get back from New Mexico I'll probably head out that way again. Drop me a PM if you or anyone else here wants to meet up there. Wont be available until the end of the month.

Voice59 08-10-2013 09:56 PM

Why'd you go back to stock? Yeah I won't be available til the end of the month as well. I'm stuck out here on the Bush. I'll let you know if I can swing through.

Ryguy 08-11-2013 01:03 PM

I used to see that white roadster every other day when I lived off diamond springs. It looks pretty nice in my opinion.

And are you guys talking about the plaza on haygood where plaza azteca and farm fresh is? I remember there being a bunch of classic cars meeting there every weekend.

Voice59 08-11-2013 07:48 PM

Yeah, it's more than classic cars there. It's pretty much everything. Only type of car I haven't seen were high end exotic. No lambo's or ferrari's. Just a lot of muscle and imports.

Tigger 08-19-2013 06:50 PM

There is a guy that rolls through with a yellow Ferrari. Old one, though. And he revs it like a tard.

And I went back to stock because everything I initially planned on doing to the car did a complete 180 and I went on to look for a 370 in a color I needed. Now it seems that changed direction again as I'm looking at purchasing the Q50 in the near term. Bye, bye Powerhouse Amuse. Bye, bye dreams. Helloooooo sexy Q! hahahaha

Voice59 08-19-2013 10:15 PM

Nice.. I don't really like heading out there simply because I don't know anyone at all. And I get there pretty early and it seems to be a lot of muscle and not too many imports. And the imports that ARE there are like 17 year olds with alot to prove for some reason.

Come to C & C Williamsburg every 3rd Saturday of the month. A great diversity of cars. EVOs, WRXs, Lambos, Ferraris, BMWs, Porsches. 370 & 350s, Muscle cars, British cars, etc.

I got a MB 370Z, cannot miss it. Always parked by a Nissan Nismo Juke, the C & C coordinator, I'm the assistant coordinator.

There is a Coffee Shop were in addition to coffee you can get breakfast.

Very friendly crowd!

Hope to see you next month!

Onelownismo 08-22-2013 10:36 AM

Hey Voice59, if you want to head out to C & C in Williamsburg one day, I'd be down to joing ya.

Tigger 08-22-2013 07:25 PM

Same here. Oh, hey Mike! How ya been?! lol

If anyone wants to get together sometime this weekend just to meet up and chill and grab coffee or food up at Town Center then hit me up. I'm not doing a damn thing. Hell, y'all can even hit me up at my place and we can grill out or something. Don't matter to me. I've got Scotch too. But if you want a cigar, bring your own.

Ryguy 08-22-2013 08:23 PM

If you guys don't mind I would like to tag along to C&C in Williamsburg. Sounds like a good time.

Tigger 08-22-2013 09:56 PM

I wind up going to the Richmond C&C. For some reason I never make the local stuff. Something about it being convenient is too inconvenient. :shakes head:

Voice59 08-22-2013 10:18 PM

I'll let you guys know.. I'm still stuck on the boat. I get off tomorrow but I'm gonna make this and next weekend about my gf. She deserves it. lol
