And there were actually Z's there!

b1adesofcha0s 02-05-2011 06:07 PM

Looks like I missed out on a great meet. Didn't even wake up till 2 pm, lol. I will definitely be there for the next meet in MD.

Here are a few links to the car show in Hershey April 30th, 10am - 2pm

NAGTROC

6SpeedOnline

Cast Away Critters

Seems to be getting a lot of traction.

Nice to meet everyone again.

Thanks for the links Joe -- good to see you yesterday.

After reading the post at 6speedonline, I'm wondering if stock 370Zs are considered "exotic cars" (in the context of this event).

I'm sure the event will be worth attending either way, just wanted to get your take on the "exotic car" definition......

m4a1mustang 02-06-2011 09:32 AM

My guess is no, but we could always park in general parking and enjoy the real exotics that are in the show.

I suspect you are correct and I agree, probably worth the cruiZe up and to see the exotic cars that show up.

I have posted a request for an answer, on NAGTROC, to the organizer of the event to clarify 'exotic' and will reply with an answer. After seeing some of the modded Z's at the Chantilly Nissan meetup, I think some qualify. :)

Could be a good cruise up to Hershey either way for the Nissan crowd. I am a little concerned this '1st annual' event is getting too much attention and the organizers might be overwhelmed with the response from all the 'exotic' cars garaged all winter and wanting to stretch their legs. eg the UMD meet!?

Hey guys, where's the meet this weekend... Kings Contrivance..??

Looks like it might be sunny, so I'll try making it, I've been avoiding the snow and crappy weather :)

Good question. Where you guys wanna meet? KC? BTC? Gordon Biersch?
Or do we want to try Dobbin Road again? How did that location work out?

I have to wait and see if my car's new pedals come in the mail by Saturday. If they do, it's an easy install. If not, I won't make it. Mazda's on the fritz again, and my Z does not currently have an accelerator pedal equipped. :icon17:

m4a1mustang 02-08-2011 10:09 AM

Meh, save Gordon Biersch for good spring time weather.

Power is nothing, if it's not wielded with precision!

Crap, I just quoted the Lexus commercial... :shakes head:

4r3s 02-08-2011 10:26 AM

personally i like the dobbin center for meets, I can go get chipotle afterwards and then hit up the touchless car wash that Lance filled me in on. but either KC or dobbin is fine with me.

Kirkster 02-08-2011 10:57 AM

how much snow is left on the ground in the Dullas area as I will be flying back on Thursday... Just want to know how bad off the truck will be.

Not much at all. Any snow left is in shaded areas off the sides of the road.

Kirkster 02-08-2011 01:25 PM

Cool. I was not looking forward to having to dig the truck out...

Sibze 02-08-2011 01:26 PM

Just made it in from Wyoming and settling down in Maryland for the next 4 years or so (Military). How are these local meetups? Never really been to them before, but I need something to do now that I know no one! The Z's in storage till this crap weather goes away, but would love to make it down sometime.

Welcome! We alternate meeting locations every other week from Fairfax, VA (address is posted on the first post of this thread) and seemingly random locations scattered throughout MD in and around the Beltway. We haven't really found a permanent spot in MD to call home just yet.

This weekend is an MD meet... not sure where. The following weekend will be in Fairfax, VA.

ZCarMan 02-08-2011 05:22 PM

Dobbin is good with me.

Hey Shado, tried to respond to your visitor message but couldn't for some reason! That was my car at Arundel Preserve you parked next to. I saw you out there wandering/talking on the phone haha I also have seen you once before come up with a group of guys, I assume lunch break and carpooled together.

4r3s 02-09-2011 08:42 AM

okay since no one has yet decided where the meet is in MD this week I am deciding for us that we will be meeting at the dobbin location.

shadoquad 02-09-2011 08:45 AM

Dobbin sounds good. I'm gonna try and make it out, although I have to get the Mazda dropped off and worked on, and I can only make it out if I have my new pedals before then.

Cool. You work in that area, or are you just over that way pretty often? The first time I was over there, we did a big work lunch. That's when I saw the yellow 370 there. The second time I was :forever alone:

lol
