Sooooo, another F'ing Saturday spent in an Airplane -- next week the meet is in FFx? (I've lost track). I desperately need to exercise my ZR!:driving:

A little off topic -- spent some time yesterday afternoon in the "Electronics Market" in Seoul (Yongsan) - found a PS3 store where they had these really cool GT5 racing seats/screens/wheels set up -- I REALLY need one of those for my basement! Of course, the seats were NOT designed for "large framed americans", but it was cool none the less.

See ya'll soon

ZCarMan 01-28-2011 03:49 PM

Do we know who all plans to come up to meet in Bowie and then head up to Brown's in Glenn Burnie and then to The Canopy for Pit Beef?

Hey Steve! Sorry you're stuck on a plane traveling across the Pacific but at least you're headed in the right direction! Yes, the schedule has in Fairfax the next weekend after this one coming tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We'll look forward to seeing you upon your return!

I think that the VA crew is heading up to Bowie Town Center. I gave Jay the info a few pages back.

Looks like Lance and the new guy might be going straight to Brown's, and Andrew is skipping because he may become an uncle very soon!!!!!! :excited:

I won't know until the morning, but if I show up at all, I'll probably meet you guys in Bowie at 10.

Yeah, I'm gonna go straight to Brown's. No sense in going all the way to Bowie just to come back a little bit later. See you guys tomorrow!

Newbie

Hey there, newbie here may try and make it up there to GB directly tomorrow if I'm feeling better. Probably not in the Z but will be in a blue armada or gray maxima.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Okay, we'll see you all tomorrow. If the weather is not good for the Z I'll be in the Mazda but either way we'll see you guys.

ZCarMan 01-29-2011 07:24 AM

Tony?....Tony?.....I think you said your Aunt was driving the Stang up with ya last time you posted. You both still plan on coming up?

Red__Zed 01-29-2011 09:19 AM

what time are you guys meeting at brown's?

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2011 09:44 AM

We are supposed to be meeting at Brown's at 12:30 pm.

tooohip 01-29-2011 10:04 AM

I'm not gonna make it today guys. Hopefully we can do this again when it warms up a bit. Have fun!

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2011 11:25 AM

Ok guys I'm here parked in front of Browns in my Z. My friends couldn't make it, so its just me. Anyone else here yet?

ZCarMan 01-29-2011 01:49 PM

Blades, nice to meet you today at Browns! You were the only person who drove their Z today so rep for that! Jay and Steve, you two were the only ones to make it to the meet this morning and all the way from VA as well! Rep to each of you for making it. Sorry the rest of you could not make it. Good Coffee at Starbucks this morning. Pit Beef was just the thing to satisfy after Browns as well. The muscle cars at Browns were great to look at. I was bummed the Chevelle was already sold but that 'cuda was looking pretty sharp too! Below is one of the Chevy Chevelles that Jay and the rest of us were admiring.

Very nice cars! Looks like a Mecum or Barrett-Jackson auction in person! Glad to hear everyone had fun.

ZCarMan 01-29-2011 02:17 PM

More like a Mecum type. You can clearly see some dents in the front of the Charger. These guys do restoration and consignment sales I believe. They have a huge shop across the road where they do work to get cars ready for sales. It was cool just to walk around all the classic muscle. The prices aren't too unreasonable for someone who wanted to buy a car they could drive and keep that was in very nice condition.

Yeah these cars wouldn't win any concourse shows but they all appeared to be nice drive-able specimens. You either buy them and drive as-is or you work on them some more to bring them up to as high a standard as you wish.

Turns out the orange '67 I was looking at was indeed a 350 V8, so if I had $27k laying around I could have picked it up. IMO that was the highest quality Camaro they had there.

b1adesofcha0s 01-29-2011 05:58 PM

It was nice to meet you guys today and I hope to meet the rest of you soon. I was looking forward to seeing your Z's, but I guess I'll see them next time. I do have a favor to ask, which I forgot about earlier today. I'm trying to find a set of the Rays Sport wheels for my car, but I want something I can pick up locally. A bunch of my friends want to get together and buy them for my birthday, which is on Thursday, but I can't seem to find any in the area. If anyone is selling or knows someone who is selling a set, please let me know. I can come get them at/after one of our Saturday meets. I posted a thread in the Wanted section of the Marketplace, but haven't found anything. Thanks for the help!

m4a1mustang 01-29-2011 07:18 PM

It was nice meeting you too. Too bad we had such a small turnout. I know as the weather warms up we really start to get some nice crowds. I'll keep an eye out for any Rays that pop up for sale and let you know.

shadoquad 01-29-2011 11:06 PM

Sorry I missed out, you guys. Been sick all week, and I needed the rest.

m4a1mustang 01-29-2011 11:13 PM

Sucks for you, Al. If you had showed up I would have bought you the car of your choice. Just that one time ever. Ah well. :p

Hope you feel better, bud.

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully we get some decent weather in VA for the meet next weekend in Fairfax!

SHIROZE 01-30-2011 09:59 AM

The pics of the cars are sweet! I can only imagine that it was 10Xs better.
Can't wait for dry pavement.

Even if Shiro Ze would come out of the garage, going up the grade to Braddock would be impossible with the snow covered street.

Til next time :tiphat:

could have finally gotten the pink Smart Fortwo of my dreams

If the weather holds, I'll be in NY next weekend. So, best I can do is the next MD meet.

I bet she will enjoy that more :roflpuke2:

Good times on Saturday Jon! We were about 10 mins from Brown's and there was a 6th Gen Maxima that floored it past me with big ole rims and chrome everywhere. Guess he thought he smoked me bigtime (was half expecting the hazard light flash) :roflpuke2::bowrofl:

Yeah, Maryland is an interesting place to say the least when it comes to people and their cars and the way they drive. Glad you could come up and that you enjoyed the cars. I got a kick out of them.

Just remember Kirk, it could be worse. You could be stuck in Cairo!
