Yes it will throw off the balance. I'd recommend doing both the front and rear as penguin said, won't hurt a thing and will look great and perform even better than it looks.

Same thing happens to me and only on the 4-5 up shift! But from some of the replies here, it seems it the 4-5 shift isn't supposed to be that sensitive in regards to 3rd gear. I've honestly...

Hrm... I don't think I've ever noticed a minimal rev like that. I'm going to try to replicate it this weekend. It does seem like maybe your 3rd gate is too sensitive, but I don't know enough about...

this sounds more like you might be missing ever so slightly on the upshift and hit the mark the trigger point on the 3rd gear on the way to 5th if you can understand what i mean.
