soooo go buy a rear diff setup out of a wrecked 307Z and put new gears in there. then just swap diffs for race days. sounds like it's do-able and i have access to many junk yards with higher end cars...

I recommend buying a breaker bar. It's one of those tools you will use over and over. Next time you are at harbor freight, they have a 36" for $10. Money well spent.

Another situation one would see even bigger power difference in different gears is with turbocharged vehicles, but this is because in lower gears there is not always enough load to get the turbo...

There is not formula that can predict what you would've made. Dyno measure horsepower with respect to the calculated gear ratio. Meaning you make virtually the same power if run in 3rd, 4th, or 5th....

In general higher gear will show a bit higher horsepower number, but I don't think there's any equation you can plug in to convert. The dyno doesn't really care what gear ration you are in in terms...
