Hi, I saw a post that you ran at VIR. I am in VA and want to get into track racing. I have a 16 Nismo, the only upgrade I have installed is a cat back exhaust. Ran 13.5 1/4 on my first and only run at drag strip in RVA. I know it should be 13.2 but it was the first run in that car and first drag run in many years. I could use some advice on how to setup my car for road track runs, thanks, Nigel.

I understand. It's the same reason why I had to go conservative on my first year, my concern was more fender clearance as I know the rim can hold the tire. There is nothing wrong with the 265/285 setup, I just can't stand it as I don't like cars that understeer more than my Prius

hey cossie thanks for all your help, but im still unsure what to do I will need to think about it. I dont feel confident running a wider tire than the manufacturer recommends as I am assuming these companies have done their research, I do like the idea of square though to eliminate under steer. However i don't think I will be able to achieve square with these tires if i keep to manufacturers limits the closest i would get is a 265/285 combo as a 275 combo in re11 would be about 5% off in the speedometer difference which the tire calculator deems dangerous. I definetly dont want to decrease tire width to run square as that wont give me any benefits. So I am at a loss and will have to think... not sure I could delve into the unknown like you and go against recommended sizes..
