Yeah, can post it up on HZ once we have a shop willing and a potential date.
Can be open to everyone who wants to run, I just need to get my tune finished up, have to get the 5k+ WOT tables finalized (was having power drop issues).

jwick 04-26-2014 10:20 AM

Powerfab definitely has a dynojet. I've been on it

jwick 04-26-2014 06:57 PM

Good day under the car. Did final first week checkout and found solutions to the couple minor oil leaks!

This thing is stupid fast

jwick 04-29-2014 12:55 PM

Stillen CBE exhaust being a restriction fix is in the worx, stay tuned...

When do you think your tune will be polished up?

I've got a new project in the worx so I'd be willing to wait until that is complete before going for a glorry run.

theDreamer 04-29-2014 01:30 PM

Need to make a call to see when I can get my car back on the dyno at the tuner.
He said it would only be a half day of tuning since 80-90% is done, but also with the finish is throwing in new plugs. Keep going back & forth on what to order. I think I have the OEM Nissan GT-R ones since years ago HKS & NGK were all on back order and we just used those since they were the same basically.

jwick 04-29-2014 03:47 PM

I'm running OEM GTR plugs

Those are standard with the kit :).

Mr.Squeeze 04-29-2014 06:09 PM

As usual I am late to reading this congrats on the built excellent work:tup:

O&G 04-29-2014 07:21 PM

I was running the NGK GTR plugs but ran into some issues with them, number 6 cylinder plug cracked some porcelain (not because of over timing), we've been having issues w/ the NGK's for sometime. I switched to a set of the Denso's and Mr. Bergenholtz re-gaped them to 22. Car is running strong rite now with no issues. Gettn sidewayz w/ ease :) I've had her on the road for 5 days now, from Houston to San Antonio and now I'm in Austin. I'll probably head back to Houston tomorrow or Thursday. I'll hit you up!

I'll be starting the next stage of the build soon for that hi boost E85!

I'll also ask JTran about the exhaust issue you texted me w/ today. Super busy day w/ work!

Sounds good bud. I talked to Eric today. I'm going to run by Saturday morning to discuss with JTran. I know he can do what I need juat wasn't sure if he'd tell me I'd should just take it to an exhaust shop.

I'm more comfortable with him since its turbo downpipe related and he does turbo systems.

It'll a short stay as we have to be a bday party that afternoon.

Word...I'll hit you up when I head that way. Hopefully there will be a lift opened so we can take a look and also go over the mod I'm kicking around in my head.

theDreamer 04-30-2014 08:33 AM

Ok, looks like for the basic boosted guys sticking with the OEM GTR plugs is a solid bet.
Time to find a place to order them.

jwick 04-30-2014 01:00 PM

Looks like I spoke to soon as I've still got an oil leak. Sasha's top notch customer service has me lined up for the replacement part for Friday. I should (fingers crossed) have everything back together Saturday.

Chuck33079 04-30-2014 01:01 PM

At least it's a new and different oil leak :rofl2:

AN swivel fittings at the block adapter

jwick 04-30-2014 01:48 PM

If yours aren't leaking I recommend never touching them again. I think the problem is they are swivel fittings. I don't think there would be a leak issue if they were hard 90s. I realize it makes installation easier but also opens up leak points.

After seeing someone recently post about it there to gauge interest and having multiple people question why someone would bother to waste their money and do a baseline dyno pull, I don't have a lot of faith in some members of that group. :rofl2:

At least 10% of that group I question their ownership and such.
I am sure some mean good by their questions or comments but others are just....:shakes head:

Yeah. Every day I add at least one person to the list of "Houston Z Owners I Never Need To Meet". :rofl2: It seems that there are a lot of good people there and they are completely drowned out by the idiots. :rofl2:

Yeah, plus side is the good ones are usually the ones who attend the Friday night meets, Nismo Fiesta type events, and those sort of gatherings. The others are the ones who post about a random meet on X day in some part of town in a parking lot that no one knows of.....

Chuck33079 05-02-2014 09:11 AM

I'll go to the meets that are posted here as well. Someday. The random ones or the ones where I have to get up at 5am on a Saturday and detail my car can **** right off.

Yeah, we have stopped doing the C&C 5AM ones, they are ok once in awhile but lately they are not worth it at all.

Chuck33079 05-02-2014 09:15 AM

Unless I'm going hunting or fishing or I have to get up to take a piss, 5AM on Saturday just doesn't exist.

Oh I'm pretty sure you'd get UP for a BJ at 5AM.

While I appreciate the offer, fixing my PS3 is plenty of thanks for helping install the turbo.

jwick 05-02-2014 09:52 AM

So back to the build...

Those following will recall that the car is making ridiculous amounts of torque at the cost of top end HP. The downpipe v-band is now also the lowest point in the car which has led to some *** pucker moments when it drags.

So the solution I've come up with should fix both problem. Yesterday I ordered a new exhaust from Fast Intentions. I couldn't go with Sasha's connection for a FI exhaust because the lead pipes for the G and Z are different and it wouldn't bolt up. So Tony sold me a somewhat custom exhaust setup. I bought only the X-pipe and Muffler section. He also gave me the extra set of flanges to bolt up to the X-pipe. I will then take the car to my tuner and have him custom fabricate the connection between the X-pipe/WG Recir/Downpipe.

This solution should allow me to open up flow getting back some top end HP and also fabricate around my low spot. As far as I'm concerned, Win-Win. Off to see JTran in the morning to see what this is all going to cost me...

Boosting a NA car is like owning a boat. There's no stop to the money leaving my account. Definitely not a complaint. It's worth it.

Chuck33079 05-02-2014 09:53 AM

It's going to sound fantastic. And you'll get your volume back.
