The numbers are insane. Having a hard time keeping trq down. Never thought I'd say that

I'll post pictures and charts later. It's hard to compare these numbers since they are Mustang Dyno numbes and are probably at least 15% low.

I had JTran overlay a GTM Stage 2 kit he tuned to stock block limits over mine. I dominate from 2.5k-6k. The twin picks up 3-5 more hp above 6.5k but the lines are bascially parallel.

Big Single Turbo > Twins !

This kit will make torque for days. We pulled a shitload of timing to try and keep it down where I was comfortable. We eventually just had to settle with the fact that it was going to make more torque than I originally wanted because neither of us was comfortable with pulling any more timing down low.

jwick 04-25-2014 04:56 PM

Final Numbers (Mustang Dyno) - 408 / 382

It appears the diference between this Mustang and a DynoJet is around 15% so equivalent numbers on a DynoJet should be around 480 / 450. I'll be getting a DynoJet run at some point.

I'll post charts and stuff after we get back from dinner.

Chuck33079 04-25-2014 04:59 PM

Once we get fuel pressure gauges in we need to hit Powerfab for the Dynojet numbers to really compare.

I agree

jwick 04-25-2014 05:13 PM

That'll be at least June since that's when they think the sender might come in. Might need to just wait until its not hot anymore

Chuck33079 04-25-2014 05:16 PM

That would be October. Maybe.

O&G 04-25-2014 11:04 PM

JTrans dyno reads lower than any other in the nation. Those numbers are good. I bet you'll be very surprised what it lays down on a dynojet. Add 15% at the least. He uses it as a tuning tool not for bragging rights. Although it is fun to see hi horsepower guys leave with a sad face ;)

He was polishing up a tune on a Shelby cobra with a nasty cam. Made over 600 whp & wtrq. It was mean. Everyone in the shop was glad when he started tuning my car for a break in volume

jwick 04-25-2014 11:08 PM

I know the G is a monster. It'll be street beast with that torque.

O&G 04-25-2014 11:09 PM

O and wtq > whp btw

You have the ultimate sleeper IMO.

I agree. The nice thing is since I painted the IC black you can't even tell if you look directly at it

jwick 04-25-2014 11:30 PM

It truly looks like I painted the rims and added a cbe. Oh until the PT6266 spools up and your *** gets smoked

Chuck33079 04-25-2014 11:37 PM

Hell, it's even quieter now than it was with just bolt ons.

That's true. I even think its quiter than stock. Well at least until the WGs open

Here's JTran tuning that Cobra. It's easily a 800whp car on a DJ. Even though VQ is his specialty, he makes magic on all makes!

jwick 04-26-2014 12:02 AM

As promised the final numbers. The descriptions tell the entire story. For those not familiar with bar readings, .68bar is 10psi.

Run#1 is what I left with. We dialed out a lot of timing trying to keep the torque number reasonable. It appears the muffler on my Stillen CBE is much more restrictive than the F.I. which explains why I was making almost equal trq and hp.

Run#2 is Yellow WG spring (6.8lbs) on Sasha's base map

Run#3 is the last run we did when we realized it was time to start pulling timing down low.

Oh and these are Mustang readings so add about 15% for DJ comparable numbers.

Yea he installed cams, springs, retainer, entire new fuel system and a giant whipple charger on that stang.....i leave the shop everytime its on the dyno. Sh*t is stupid loud. That car will make gobs of power on a DJ and the cop that owns it gave us some.moonshine his grandpa made the other day. It was an eye opener....lol!

The turbo acts as a muffler till the gate opens! Even my car with a dumped exhaust is quieter than you would think!

Ill be back in town Sunday, we will meet up next week sometime for boost, bbq and booze!

Yeah there was a whole table full of OEM parts on the shuffleboard table. My ears are sti trying to recover. I had to walk a block just to be able to talk on the phone.

Nothing like stupid HP and Shine!

Lets plan a day to lay down numbers on a dynojet. I want to get some numbers for my ride 2!

I'm all for that. I was hoping to have a fuel pressure sender first but don't want to what until the heat of summer.

Maybe PF will give us a discount deal for booking 3 at the same time. Unless JTran knows a better shop

The HFC made all the noise for mine. Replacing those with a turbo muffled it a lot.

jlo370z 04-26-2014 08:44 AM

I had HFC but they were resonated

Can try to do a dyno day in Houston on a dynojet, try to get all the boosted 370z (and 350z) guys out. Have a mini shoot out and lay down some solid comparisons for people to see.

Got a place in mind?

theDreamer 04-26-2014 09:50 AM

I honestly do not know who has a dynojet anymore.
I believe Powerfab still does, I know a few of the muscle car shops in town do also but would have to ask a few friends for exact shop names. I mean, the main thing is really to do a dyno day we just need probably 10-20 cars ready to go and they will throw a discount in to run them all day. Since it is just load/run/unload.

jwick 04-26-2014 10:01 AM

If you're in. Then I know we have 4 without starting to take names.

O&G 04-26-2014 10:03 AM

Good idea Dreamer. I'm pretty sure powerfab does, there is a few other spots as well. Lets get it in motion. We can put it up on the Houston Z's page on the ol FB.
