I do but don't know how to post them.

The only one I currently have is on the dyno. Although I'll admit it sound alike 95% of FI VQs in the video.

How's the z1 clutch holding up? It's rated to about 500wtq and I know you're somewhere close there and may pass that figure once swapped over to e85

I haven't had any issues with it to date.

jwick 08-07-2016 09:23 AM

Damn...Been eight months since my last post.

Let's see...the car runs great. Still plenty of power and no issues.

I got bored yesterday morning and before it got too hot in the garage I dropped the new downpipe and header wrapped it. Not a bad job solo if I might say so myself.

Gonna take a test spin to check everything out. :driving:

And exhaust leak. Guessing I didn't quite get the v-band seated correctly on the turbo. Probably sit until this heat is over and I can get it on the lift.

So, any updates on EcuTek or fuel? I've pieced together my own rear mount on my G37, this has me double guessing the AN fittings and not heat wrapping a few things. I think I'll switch things up a bit. Which fittings did you end up going with?

Also, you seem to have a killer tuner but what do you think about Uprev and dealing with all of the timing/fuel tuning? Does it do a well enough job for your build or would your tuner prefer something else for the VQ? I have an 08 so its pretty much my only option other than full stand alone, just kicking around some ideas before I go buy something that I'll regret. Thanks in advance..

No updates at all since my last post. I haven't had any issues with AN fitting since I built my own hoses to fit perfectly. To be honest i can't remember which AN fittings I went with, I've bought several types over the years. Unless you are going to have someone make you hydraulic connected hose ends, AN is basically your option.

As far as tuning, there is no issue with UpRev. Ecutek is a better tuning software but plenty of FI guys have and are running UpRev with good results. My tune is rock solid and I've had no issues with it.

run down some alpha maros with that hefty snail and let us know how it went.

YzGyz 04-22-2017 12:41 PM

Yeah Wick, run em down! Lol

I don't play on the open road much. Too many unknowns including crazy fast cars in Houston.

I usually hit the Friday night Street race night and loose to as many people as I win against.

I don't street race or race at all. I will admit that at times I exceed the speed limit but it's never at a time that could endanger others.

YzGyz 04-22-2017 03:34 PM

I can't say I never did it on the streets because I have. I regularly don't as I play at the track as stated above.$20 well spent imo. J, we should go cruising one day. I think a few of us boosted guys can round up one day.

I uploaded all my videos to youtube and embedded them here.

jwick 06-21-2017 10:11 PM

That's a lot of effort

drewr4411 11-22-2017 12:05 PM

Hey Jwick.

Do you still own the car? If so how has the BP kit held up so far?
Any new details you can share.. Good, Bad, etc?

Me and you talked to you in 2015 about this kit. I had a 08 G37s a the time. Got totaled a few months after we talked.

Thanks,

jwick 11-22-2017 05:05 PM

Still have the car. No real updates as life has gotten in the way of toy time (9 month old). Last time I drove it, it still pulls like nothing I’ve ever driven. I’ve had a few minor issues but none of them BP kit related.

1cleanZ 01-05-2018 08:37 AM

need more vids of this thing!

jwick 01-05-2018 01:02 PM

I don’t even know how to load videos. Not that would make much difference as I think the only videos I have are on the dyno.

jwick 01-13-2018 06:57 PM

Drove the car today and boy does it pull in 40deg weather!

Wow, I can't believe I just read through 31 pages of posts in one sitting lol. I haven't been on forums in like two-three years now but I had to come back and visit this specific thread. Came to add another G37 Coupe to the list! My new (to me) BP 1.5v kit. My goal in 2019 was to start getting all the items I needed to turbo my car this year (end of summer-early fall). It's only February 15th and I literally almost have everything I need. Some of the parts I have obtained in the last 4 weeks before I found the kit itself were Z1 oil pan spacer, Z1 motor mounts, Z1 subframe bushings, Greddy Profec EBC, Innovate MTX-D Oil Pressure/Temp Gauge, Innovate PSB-1 AFR/Boost Gauge, Injector Dynamics 1000CC injectors, and an Aeromotive 340 LPH Fuel Pump. Planning to install the kit with a couple friends in the next two-three months.
