Went to Beach Meet last Saturday and saw some nice rides. The 370Z's had some nice shoes that really made the cars stand out. I decided to take the dive and order some M310's.. I love the look but Zoren already had a Matt Black set, so I ordered mine in 40th Anniversary Gunmetal Gray from Eric at GetYourWheels. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5138/5...991bcf60_b.jpg. Can't wait. Will take about 2 weeks to get but will be worth it.

Also got with FBNISSAN and ordered some ART TestPipes, should sound awesome with the Fast Intentions Carbon Fiber Exhaust.. Will take lots of picture of the installs.

This week sound deadening project...

Next year we will make a decision on Turbo or Super Charger. I think I'll be a little broke for a while..

I bought 2 rolls from GTMAT.COM enough to do doors, floor, and trunk. This morning I did some looking around in DIY area and found a good write up for the trunk. Great, awesome, It’s my car the write was done on!!! FlashBurn already did the trunk area, I didn't know so I may have some left over material for anyone in Florida 
[IMG][/IMG]
So this morning I started to sound deaden the doors. I swear to god, if there is anyone out there that does this for a living I have mad respect for you brother. This stuff is a pain in the a_s..

I went to work on the door, I used a pannel removal kit I got off ebay $12.00.

Once the covers were off I used a 10mm socket to remove the screws.

I removed the switch plate using the plastic tools, careful not to scratch anything up, then started to pop the door panel off.

Once the door panel was off be careful not to drop it, also don't pull it away just yet, you need to remove the door latch cables. Once you see them you will understand how easy it is to pop them off.

With the door panel completely off start removing wire harness, and anything else you might have in the way. I left the speaker and power window housing alone. I didn't want to be stuck all day figuring out how to re-mount it.

So because the nature of man is to be lazy on holidays I cut a 37 inch panel of GTMAT and taped it to the door. Wile tapped I marked the edges with a marker, and tried to mark were the holes were for the door panel. This stuff is hard to make a nice clean hole on.

Once I had it cut out, I cleaned off the door with alcohol and started to stick the panel on. I started on the left and removed the backing as I moved to the right.

I covered the whole door.. Then remounted my wire harness and cross over.

My battery died on the camera, but I cut around the power window stuff and rolled as much flat as I could, if I had gaps I cut pieces to cover them. Make sure you take the time to work the material all the way to the door panel to get good contact. Its a pain but avoid air pockets.

Once the door was done I pulled out some Black Matt Carbon Vinyl to wrap the switch plate. I got this stuff at MetroStyling I got a lot of it, I plan on wrapping the headlights when I build the halo's. This stuff has a nice texture to it and is heat activated so you will need a heat gun..

Make sure you leave enough material to wrap it around to the back so it wont peal when your wife starts playing with it cause it cool!!

http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...2-finished.jpg

When your done with it, just re-mount the door panel taking care to line up all the pins before smashing the hell out of it to get it back on.. Completed door!!!

Nice look for $24.00.

Talked to Eric today my M310"s are being powder coated, and the ART Test Pipes are on there way as well as the (4) Halos to mod the head lights.. Can't wait to see it all come together!!!!

For tomorrow I'll pull the seats, kick panels, carpet, and sound deaden the floor and firewall. The only reason I am doing this is to shut my wife up, always complaining about the exhaust note. For me its like music to my ears !!!!

Hey, it's my old car! It's cool to see that you are putting your own touches on it. So glad that someone who cares about our cars actually bought mine, especially with being able to see it evolve on here.

Congrats man! Didn't realize you were (somewhat) local. Did you figure out what size the secondary halos are supposed to be MM-wise?

Brother,
I wouldn't have touched it with a 10 foot pole, but you took such great care of it and saved me BooCoo Money on all the upgrades you put on.

Got halo's in today, will get the interior back together and build the Dual Halos this weekend. I need to pick up the paint and epoxy. Wanted to Carbon Fiber Wrap these but the more I think about it, I think the heat from the lamps will mess up the wrap (long Term). I only want to crack these open once..

Would have finished the interior but got rained out..

Today I finished the trunk and got the car all put back together.. Here I used Eastwood spray on acoustic sound reducer. You can see it in the areas I didn't use the GTMAT. Under the GTMAT is 3m pad, and a layer what FlashBurn used. For the 3m matt he used spray glue so I got lazy real quick and just went over the top of it. Around the edges I used the pray, in the fenders and around the pillars i used the spray.

After I had to re-install the interior panels and the AMPS and SUB. What a pain in the A_s!!

we cut these out to sit in the shelf, pull the wires from under it and through a pleather hole to give it a clean look. The AMPS mount at an angle giving them good air flow.

Last I had the Sub-woofer using an Ebay Box..

Done !!! Hot as hell lost 20 ponds doing this today...

Took Sophie for a spin, and there is a noticeable difference in the sound inside. A lot less road noise, I can turn down the stereo to 17 and her it fine..

I added about 25 pounds of my GTMAT covering the floors, running boards, pillars, trunk. FlashBurn said in his write up he added about the same. The material he used was way thicker and did not seem user friendly plus he added the matting. All in all I don't think the weight will inhibit forced induction install so I am happy with it..

Next:
AT Shift knob from Jamacia
Hood Struts
ART Test pipes
M310 Rims and Ties
Swap my blacked out rear lights for stock / re-due to a smoke look
Smoke front lights
Install Dual Halo's/Carbon Fiber/blacked Out/G35 Lenses - If I can find 200ohm 1 watt resisters locally
Finally next year Super Charger
