Took Sophie for a spin, and there is a noticeable difference in the sound inside. A lot less road noise, I can turn down the stereo to 17 and her it fine..

I added about 25 pounds of my GTMAT covering the floors, running boards, pillars, trunk. FlashBurn said in his write up he added about the same. The material he used was way thicker and did not seem user friendly plus he added the matting. All in all I don't think the weight will inhibit forced induction install so I am happy with it..

Next:
AT Shift knob from Jamacia
Hood Struts
ART Test pipes
M310 Rims and Ties
Swap my blacked out rear lights for stock / re-due to a smoke look
Smoke front lights
Install Dual Halo's/Carbon Fiber/blacked Out/G35 Lenses - If I can find 200ohm 1 watt resisters locally
Finally next year Super Charger

Default Heat Shielding

I bought a 36 X 46 inch piece of heat shielding from PEP-BOYS. I have seen some other types and used other types on race trucks. I don't have the money for all that.

So I laid it out and cut manageable strips. I think it came out okay. When I came home last week i could have scrambled eggs on my intakes. No matter what the volume of air flow is, it has to effect the air temperature going into the engine. Especially with a Gen 3 intake, tubes are supper long.

I have seen discussions on the forum about doing this or Not to do this. Make your own call. It may do nothing for me, don't really have a way yet to measure air temps but it looks cool. Just like the370Z.com sticker...

Thanks for lookin, Rep if you like the progress...

Default Update

I installed my ART test pipes this morning.. Awesome service, great fit. To avoid gasket blow outs I used the High Temp Copper Gasket material. We used it on race trucks so I think it should work on these. The copper hardens around the gaskets and seals up all imperfections on the flanges..

Sounds like a deeper growl, is quieter at idle and at speed. I do feel more torque when I'm around 4,5 RPM. Nice set up.

I did find out my car is running really rich.. I wouldn't be surprised to find some fowled plugs. Will try to fix this.. Thanks to the UP Rev I got from FlashBurn i think I can do it.. Will get some dyno time after I finish one more mod..

Thanks for posting the weight added, had some details but was curious how much weight is added with doing a full truck wrap with sound dampening. Do you have any experience with GTMAT v other products like Dynamat and such? Weight, noise reduction, etc.

Default Mirrors

Mirrors,
Okay her it goes. I hate the flat mirrors on our cars. Thats about all I hate, just the mirrors. I didn't want to spend money on a light weight race mirrow, when I already have killer blind spots. So here is what I did:ZOOM Engineering Blue Side View Mirrors - 370Z

KamiSpeed has some inserts that are concave to give a wider view. So I went for it!!!
Directions, driver side mirror is flat, passenger is a little concave, not much.

The kit cam with 2 sided tape and two high end pieces of blue ice glass. They are mounted using the 2 sided tape, perfectly shaped, they fit inside the plastic trim holding the stock glass.

This is what I see now with stock mirrors.

2 Sided tape:

I put some painters tape to hold the glass to position it:

Clean look so far:

Damn what a difference, I have the mirror adjusted all the way out and i still see the rear for the car.

Just came back from Kellys and I don't have to break my neck looking to see if I'm going to hit anyone before changing lanes. Well spent money, nice look to the car too.
kellyefields and EverGreatest like this.
