Did you get your Black door inserts yet?
|
Yep the whole interior is swapped out with exception of the red stitched steering wheel. I also just sent my calipers out to another forum member in exchange for their grey calipers which I will be have re-powdercoated to match my hoses in the next week or so and I just bought the engine compartment covers from carbon fiber element which should be here next week. I'll post install pics as soon as I can.
I was also asked to put my car at a vendor booth at the local cavalcade of customs this coming January. That said I have a short list of mods that I'd like to get done in the next two months including: -Stance Coils -Phantom Air Cup Kit -Password JDM or Carbon Fiber Element Cooling Plate (I hear the PWJDM cover is terrible quality, but I like the design of it over the OEM one) -Luke Harnesses and tow hook (in purple) -DBA Kangaroo Paw Rotors I think it's most important to get the right stance, so at the very least I'll be getting the coils soon. Mark at Ravspec is also sending me a GTSpec rear strut bar soon so I'll have that to install. Stay tuned pics and updates. |
Awesome!

Can't wait to see SEMA pics!
They are calling for snow here next week so I piled my bumper today and sent it off to my body shop along with my new lip. While I had easy acess to everything I put your old red hoses on. They look great in my car man. Can't thank you enough! |
I made an impulse purchase and just paid for a set of the Top Secret B pillars from VDC_OFF. Given I have no carbon fiber on the exterior of my car I think I'll have them vinyl wrapped in matte black and maybe have someone airbrush the "Top Secret" stamp in bronze or purple. This way it'll preserve the carbon fiber.
I also just got paid for me OEM 40th seats, so I'll be using the funds from that transaction to buy stance coils and hopefully (fingers crossed) a phantom cup kit. Oh and I'll be picking up my Carbon Fiber Element compartment covers tomorrow (unfortunately they tried to deliver them today, but Im in St.L for work) and installing them by EOD friday. Stay tuned. |
would u consider selling your driver side red door inset?? mine is some what beat up.....:shakes head:

I've been fighting myself the past couple days on whether I want to sell my Works and go back down to a 19" wheel. What's everyone think?
|
IMO 19 or 20 on the Z looks very similar depending on how you drop the car. 19's with the car super low is the perfect look. But the 20 wheels look just as nice with a little more ride height. So really just depends if
1. you can functionally go low enough to make 19's work 2. you like the look of the car that low to make the 19's tuck nicely into the fenders |
you know.... i always thought your works WERE 19's.... i say keep em dude... they look awesome and plus.... once you slam your car itll look even more tucked ;)
|
I'm not to concerned with function. I'm about to pull the trigger on coils and a cup kit. I'll definitely be slamming my car, but will have the luxury of raising it.

I'll be pulling my headlights, side markers and door handles this weekend to have them painted. I'm 100% sold on painting my headlights (including both the surrounding and the shrouds) Quartz to match the body, but I’m not sold on the side markers or handles. I’m torn between body color and satin black to match my wheels… I’m thinking I’ll plastidip them black to get a better idea and make a decision from there. I’ll post pics once I do.
|
IMO if your doing the headlights, even if your colour matching 40th quarts, I would do the door handles to match your rims satin black. everything colour matched may not pop as much as some satin black offsets.

I got the headlights separated today. I tried using a heat gun first and that wasn't going well. So I switched to the oven method and followed Dallaz's how to. It was much easier! Still having a lot of trouble getting the door handles off.

Did you use the heat gun and box method?
I just stripped mine today and got them ready to separate. |
Looks great so far! I'd paint the side markers and door handles the same color as the wheels, but then again that's what I did so my answer might be a little biased. ;)
As far as the headlights, you might want to do satin black on the housing and 40th quartz on the shrouds to match the color of the car. Let me know if you want pictures to see how that'll look since the color of my car is close to the 40th anniversary color, but not quite. |

Just received this picture from Mike. Can't wait to put them on
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/19/5ynapu8e.jpg I'm dropping the headlights, handles and side markers off Friday morning. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with body color, if I don't like it I can always go to black. For those who split their headlights, did you clean the inside of the plastic casing before you put them back together? |
Calipers came out great!
Body colored handles I feel always compliment the car and make it look a bit more streamlined, keep up the good work  |
Those look sweet!

i would stay clear of glass cleaner since it might do that rainbow effect when the sun hits it...
calipers look ridiculous :D i love them.... |
R U gonna be adding purple into your headlights??? That would be sick in te head to incorporate your new preferred colour into them????

I guess that makes sense. If u ever decide to change the purple, which u have changed it a few times already:tup:, at least u wont need to re-open those headlights

Received my GT Spec 4 point rear strut bar yesterday from RavSpec yesterday. Gotta say at first glance I'm impressed with the quality. I know I'm not the first on the forum to get one of these, but I'm hoping to install it this weekend (it may be tough with the holiday). My plan is to follow the DYI on the forum, but make the final product a little cleaner. I'll post my own write up when I'm all done. I'm also planning to paint everything once the test fit is done, that said I'm thinking I'll go with 40th Quartz. However that brings up a new issue, I've been able to find an Top Secret rear brace bar cover and I want to buy it over the Amuse one, but I'm concerned there will be a lot of color going on in my interior. To out it lightly the TS brace cover is "out there" (I've attached pics below). If I end up getting it, with the backs on my Brides, the gt spec strut bar quartz and the my soon to be air tank painted Quartz (at least that's what I'm thinking), do you think it'll be to much?
Oh and on top of all that I found my Luke Harnesses, those will be purple. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/26/u6y4y3a7.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/26/6y9eju7a.jpg |
those are SWEET! can't wait to hear how they ride. Personally, I would powdercoat those in the 40th quartz. Especially, since they are under the car. Powder would be much tougher and hold up better than paint

Oh geez! sorry. Yeah....I'd paint those. you won't get powder to match perfect. It's close enough for under the car or under the hood. But the 40th quartz is a b!tch to match.
