Well, I decided to make some big changes to my car. Over the next couple of months I'm gonna post some teaser shots with final pics once everything is installed and finalized. If anyone is going to Z Nationals in the ATL area you'll be able to see it in person. I've only talked to a few members and vendors about the change, so if you know about it keep it hush, hush. I'll post pics as I go. On a totally different note I tried installing the Mishimoto power steering reservoir this weekend and failed. I'll try again this weekend.

Haha. I think it's gonna be a love/ hate kinda deal with the purist members on the forum, but I'm extremely excited for it.

Quick update on the changes to my car. If I were to break my plans out into four phases, as of today i've purchased 2 of the 4 phases. Unfortunately I still have to wait for the parts to arrive which I would estimate both will be here around the first week of September. The third phase will have to wait until I purchase my daily driver, which is about 3 weeks out... its a wonderful P.O.S 2000 Cavalier with about 120,000 miles, but hey it's hard to beat $1000, and keeping my car under a cover in the winter is priceless. The last phase will be my winter project.
I'm also taking my front and rear bumper to get refinished next week. My painter is gonna touch up some of the chips in the front bumper and refit the rear spats (the slight gap from when I installed them is annoying me). Im also gonna have him paint my Mishimoto PS reserviour and radiator overflow tank to match the 40th body color. I'll post pics when everything is done. |
sounds very interesting Wiggins........Tell us what your getting:stirthepot:

On a side note I had a photo shoot with a local internet periodical a couple weeks back. Pics and an article should be posted in a week or two. My only update is that my car is at a Nissan dealer with a failed clutch slave cylinder. 27 days past 3 yr warranty. God I hope I can get them to cover

Take them the thread off of this forum and contact Nissan HQ. A good dealer will take care of it for you. ON a side note call John at Z1 and get an upgraded CSC if you have to buy the new one.

As far as updates on the parts I've ordered I have nothing yet, the biggest piece is supposed to begin being built this week, from there it's two weeks until they get delivered to my door. One of the smaller upgrades is supposed to shipped by Sept 1. I'll keep everyone updated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Received some of my new parts... Here's teaser #1. Still waiting on my new upper/ lower radiator hoses from Samco.

LCR Autowerks had fabricated it for me. They are a forum member.
In other news, one of the bigger mods I had planned fell through, so unfortunately the "big reveal" I had planned wont happen. That said I guess I can stop with teasers (except for one, I'll give a little hint below) and update everyone with my plans. I decided to get rid of the red accent color on the 40th and go with something that I think will compliment the color of the car more... Purple!!! I already started with the engine dress up, by upgrading all my silicone to the Samco purple (although im still waiting on my radiator and catch can hoses). I've also switched out my PWJDM dressup bolts with a set of NRG fender washers in purple. This weekend I'll be making a grounding kit in purple. Next I'll be sending my calipers to get powdercoated, after that... lets just say I made a purchase last week. It'll be here in 8-12 weeks. My only hint is this: Its black, its JDM and well... think planets in the solar system. |
Im a huge fan of purple (done right) as an accent. Cant wait to see it layed out. Purple will go way better considering it is in the paint itself.

Radiator hoses are. However I haven't had my car for over a month. First the CSC now the IPDERM. Fighting Nissan over paying for the repair again...
Here's the best pic I have... |
Oh wow that sucks!! Luckily u have the Cav:ugh2:
|
Very smart going with purple on the 40th to compliment the bit of purple hue we have in the paint depending on the angle.
looking good...sucks about not having the car for so long though |
subscribed!!! brother i never knew you had a journal... sorry for the late entry
|
i just finished reading it.... loved everybit of it man keep it up

Well i just received word from Mark at RavSpec that one of my big purchases is in, that said I'll be making my final payment tomorrow and will hopefully have the items in the next week. I cant wait for these, best part is it only took about a month to get them!! Much better than the 2-3 month wait Mark quoted me.
I've also accumulated a few more parts since my car has been sitting at Nissan, they include a Pivot Racing Radiator Cap (this is a small update), more Samco hoses to compliment the purple already in my engine bay, a self made purple grounding wire kit and a Top Secret engine cover. Cant wait to get this all installed before I head down to Import Alliance in Nashville later this month. Speaking of my car sitting at Nissan, I'm finally starting to make progress on fried IMDERM. Nissan is sending a DTS (no idea what that stands for) agent to come out and look at my car. Hopefully he will find that the CSC was installed incorrectly and they comp my repair bills and even the other half of the CSC bill. Wish me luck! I'll post pictures when i get everything. |
Good luck with the DTS.

Good luck brother!! The waiting game can almost take the best of us:icon14:

yummy!

Thanks guys. Gotta give props to Mark at RavSpec for helping me get these to my door step in less than a month from the order date. He's a great guy and I'll continue to use him in the future.
Unfortunately the parts continue to pile up as my car sits at a local dealer. Eight weeks is a long time to go without my Z, the good news is the end is in sight, a DTS agent looked at my car yesterday and confirmed that both the EMU and IPDERM are shot. They are fixing them next weeks and if all goes well I'll have my car back Friday, to install parts that night and head to Nashville for Import Alliance on Saturday. |
Good news with your car! And, lovely seats!
